Thread: Strange Problem ! internet getting connected automatically ??

I have tried to connect my phone through wifi so I changed the setting to PPPoE.

Now the strange thing is happening with me.

Net is automatically getting connected in my pc and not asking for user name and password.

Also I am able to connect wi-fi in my phone but its also not asking for password and connecting directly.

Kindly somebody help me to secure my connection .

Please mention, modem - model and make

In PPPoE mode, internet will connect automatically when you Power ON your modem. No need for dialer.

For the connection to ask password, you need to select an encryption under the " security " settings in the " wireless " page of the modem.

Yes, if you have WiFi, you need to give it a password. Otherwise anyone can use it. Go to the " wireless " page of your modem, under " security " you will find options for choosing encryption. WPA2 recommended.
