Thread: Connected once for 5 - 10 mins ... now cannot connect

This is driving me crazy!!!

I have reformatted my WIN XP PRO based system. I want to connect my bsnl broadband using D-Link GLB-502T adsl modem. I am using a usb cable to connect to the PC and sharing the connection with a cat5 rj45 cable. When I open the web based management for creating a new connection using \\192.168.1.1 every thing done properly and saved. I tried using the tutorial as provided in the attachment. The pppoe led should glow for proper internet connection, but it doesn't.

^ I assume that your settings are correct . first remove other system(s)
from the network connection and use a single computer thru LAN port to
check how it works ... if PPPoE light doesnt glow steadily then there can
be a problem with your phone line or splitter ...

I don't have an rj45 port or lan card....

I have finally configured the modem using the usb port ..... Now I want to share the internet via switch. My modem has a ethernet port which I had connected to the switch but could bring internet onto the other systems.. I think proxy will work ???

configure your modem with pppoe (modems dialer ) ..but i recommend you to don't connect your pc to usb ..just use your modem rj45 port and connect it with switch ..and from switch ..other pc's....!! ..have a LAN card it will be more efficient and stable than USB..
