    Yes, minimum hire period of plans is one month

    Minimum Hire period for all Broadband plans will be one month. In case of surrender of Broadband Connection after one month, the charges shall be recovered on pro-rata basis;

    I have changed my plan today to 625.
    strictly speaking, you have applied for a change of tariff plan!!
    Did you confirm it by checking your My Orders in your usage portal
    Usually effective date will be shown.
    If effective date is 1st of May, you can apply again today
    or tomorrow in website given by @meetdilip..

    One month limit is for NEW connection.

    I don't mean to hijack this thread but my issue is almost the same. So instead of opening a new thread I'm posting it here. (If mods feel that this need separate thread then please split this post from the rest of the thread).

    Now coming back to my issue, I've been using 500 Combo plan from quite a long time & now due to some urgent requirements, I'll have to change the plan to unlimited one (either 750C or 900C) for May (& only May). From June onwards I'll switch back to 500C. So, I just wanted to know is it possible to change the plan now using the link given by MeetDilip? (because earlier the plan change was made only before the starting of next month, that too by submitting a written application 2-3 days in advance).

    One more thing, what if I change the plan (to unlimited) in mid May, then will I be able to change it back to 500C from 1st June or I'll have to wait for 30 days before changing it?

    Thanks.

    Yes, you can use that link to order plan change. But still there are lots of confusion regarding when plan change will occur. According to reports, those who used this link got their plans changed within 2 days (not on the 1st of next month). But as I said, there is no confirmation that plan change will happen within this month. It will be wise to walk to exchange and enquire the possible date of plan change (may differ in different circles).

    Also minimum hire period of any plan is one month. So may not be able to switch back to previous plan from 1st of next month.

    Thanks meetdilip. Yes, you are right, it would be best to enquire this with the exchange, as this online plan change is not completely reliable.

    Hi,

    So, yesterday I requested for plan change via selfcare portal.

    Below is the information shown in selfcare portal:

    Under general details:
    Landline/ Broadband Plan: BB-900-ULD-COMBO-MONTHLY

    Under request status it is showing the following info:
    Request Category: Modify
    Request Type: Modify
    Status: Service Order Completed
    BB-900-ULD-COMBO-MONTHLY Provisioned
    BBG-FN-HOME-500-COMBO-MONTHLY DeProvisioned

    I visited the local exchange, they told me that ULD 900 plan has been activated (I've also confirmed this with the customer care). As per the plan it should be offering 4Mb/s, but speed test is still hinting that it is capped to 2Mb/s. Customer care has booked the complaint regarding the speed, but I'm still not convinced that the plan change has been completed.

    What should I do now?

    1
    Service Effective date as given in picture in Post No 9.
    check in your portal.

    2.
    Check your speed here twice :
    My Broadband Speed - Broadband Speed Tester
    Save links.
    3.
    Contact Broadband JTO ( of your Exchange ) to change the server .
    Sometimes they say provision is not available. confirm this.

    Probably Loading Portal...
    ( for most North Indian bsnl circles/ towns)
    if possible post as attachement(jpg) expanded Menu items
    shown on left.
    Check for any menu item " MY Orders"
    or some times, tariff plan details shown is data usage page.

    Thanks guys.

    @essbebe
    This is being shown under My Services -> View Broadband Usage
    Broadband Plan: BB-900-ULD-COMBO-MONTHLY
    Download Limit(MB): UNLIMITED

    Seems like the only option for me now is to go visit either the SDE or some tech guy at BSNL for proper speed limit setup.

    So, I just called the broadband section now & they have increased the speed to 4Mb/s, but the upload speed is still the same, wasn't it supposed to increase also?
    I'm getting 400-420 KB/s downloading speed, which is almost 100 KB/s less than what it should be. Should I complain about it or is it normal to get this speed?

    Here's some details from my Huawei MT882 Modem/Router:
    Upstream:
    ADSL Link Speed: 838 Kbps
    SNR: 8.1 dB
    Attenuation: 20.0 dB

    DownStream:
    ADSL Link Speed: 4088 Kbps
    SNR: 23.5 dB
    Attenuation: 41.5 dB

    @H@rry
    Check your speed here ( test twice ) mine is 512Kbps tariff plan.
    http://mybroadbandspeed.co.uk.

    The upload speed is capped by BSNL. ( for ADSL Broadband connections)
    http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/New_BB_postpaid.htm

    For Broadband plans where bandwidth is 1Mbps or more, the uplinking will be maximum upto 768 kbps

    Thanks for the info guys.

    @essbebe
    Speed test is also pointing that upload speed is the same.

    By the way, I noticed that the day I changed my plan to Unlimited one, the service quality has degraded, I'm getting high pings on the gaming servers (based in India). Is it something to do with the unlimited plan?
    Also, earlier (about 3-4 years ago) I used to be in NIB 1 (59. series), but due to some reason I had to re apply my telephone connection (last year) after getting it disconnected & they gave the new connection which now uses NIB 2 (117. series). Is there any chance of getting it back to NIB 1? Even if it may require disconnecting the connection & re applying for it? Is this something (changing to NIB 1) that can be done locally?

    No idea. Possible the exchange at your cousin's place is connected to NIB1 only.
    Please contact JTO of broadband section in your exchange ( town).
