Default use utstarcom WA3002g4 as repeater

Hey guys, I need some help here.
I have two wireless routers, one of which is connected to the net (PPPoE).
It is nokia siemen's type IV I guess 4 ethernet, and WiFi.
I have another UTStarcom WA3002-G4 router, which I want to keep it in a room where signal is there, but after that it is weak, and I want to use that as a RANGE EXTENDER/Repeater.

Any Idea how I can do that?
    Thanks!

Presume by PPPoE , you have entered BSNLID/PW in wan page of sl2-141 and enabled dhcp.

    _____________

Not possible. Use another rj45 cable and interconnect both WIFI routers. Max cable length possible. 100 meters.
    ____________________
    1)
A facility called WDM not available in wifi menu. of both.
    Select Channel 11 in both.
    Check and give feedback.

    ______________________

    (2)
Can you see the wifi network name SSID as entered in sl2 -141
in the system connected to WA 3002-g4 wifi router ?

    ___________________

(3)What is the distance and height involved for second location?

    _______________

    (4) Position sl2-141 at a higher height and relocate for clear "line of sight" at Target location. Does the signal level increase in system at Location 2?

    1) I don't think there is any WDM feature. Both are set as channel 11

    2) No system is actually connected to the UTStarcom router, it is lying idle. I connect the system through SL2-141 only, but signal breaks and is weak.

    3) The place where I want to keep the second router is about 20-25 metres away, but there are plenty restrictions, but network over there is FINE, like totally. The room next to it faces issues, and hence the reason for this repeater.

    4) Not possible to do.

If you have internal Bsnl Phone junction in 2nd floor, the second wifi router can be used there. No phone to be used.
( as both are 3-in-1 models and menu pages are identical )

How much will it cost to take an extension Rj11 cable with connectors at either end ( to connect to WA3002_G4)?
cost of cable Rj11 telephone cable say about Rs 5 /meter to Rs 10/meter =+. Rj11 connectors each Rs 3/=. ( say 10 meters cable )
( if there is no objection by the Flat association Secretary for running open wires ). if you are living in a Flat complex.

Noted , you cannot have a PHONE Extension PORT in the Target room.

And doesn't this wireless bridge thing work wirelessl
No. not with sl2_141 and WA3002_g4 wifi routers ( Both same ).

    Option 1 :
You can try a high power Buffalo WIFI router with WDS facility.
    http://www.buffalotech.com/files/pro...r-g300n_DS.pdf

    Option 2
:Try a Dish Type antenna with either WIFI router.
    ( Constructed or commercial )

    Para two :
You had not mentioned the height involved between
computer room ( with BSNL Phone PORT)& : Target room.
    20 to 25 meters Vertical height ?

    TEST
If you have a Cordless PhoneBase ( 2.4 GHz model preferred ) at Computer Room, and can page the Handset at (Target Room )
    Or use Intercom:
option 1 with single unit MAY work !

Yes I have a cordless phone, 2.4 Ghz, and it does work fine in the other room. So you are saying, I should just buy one Buffalo router you are telling, and keep it in the room where there is the telephone port, and the exisiting router?

    2)
Using an antenna will boost the signal? are you sure?
    Thanks!

    1.
There are lots of IFs and BUTs !( *conditions apply !!)
    2.
Buy one Buffalo wifi router and try. May be enough!

.3. In a a recent thread an "EXPERT" has junked/scotched the idea of fabricating dish antenna.by user. A commercial model may be suitable

    Building 1:
Ground floor WIFI router. ( computer room )

    Building 2:
    2nd floor FLAT 25 meters/ across the road ????
    Target room reception possible??
    Nearby room signals don't reach ???? ( In same 2nd floor distance ?/obstructions )
    Clarify.

how the hell did ground floor get into the picture? lol!
    See
    1 building only!
on the 2nd floor of the building, I have 3 rooms.
Room 1 ) BSNL PORT IS HERE, and the SL2-141 is here. Computer connected via LAN, and wifi works GREAT.
ROOM 2) Wifi signal strong, about 20-25 metres from Room 1. Want to place the WA3002G4 here. No BSNL PORT/PHONE. Wifi Signal, pretty decent.
ROOM 3)Adjacent to Room 2. 30 metres from Room 1. Wifi signal WEAK. No phone port here.

So, you see? the main issue is in Room 3 and that's why I want to make all this Wireless repeater and etc stuff.

Not possible with your existing setup.

    2. confirm :
Whether the antenna in wifi routers Siemens Sl2-141 or WA3002-g4
    can be detached.
    TEST:
    3.
Position the wifi router with Antenna parallel to the ground.
( Rotate for maximum signal in room No 2 25 meters away .
    4.
shift laptop to Room No 3: 30 meters from room No 1.
( Rotate for maximum signal in Room No 3 )

    5. "LINE OF SIGHT"
Take a torch light: Beam it from
Room No 1 or Room No 2 to Room No 3.
If the ray of light reaches Room No 3, using Buffalo WIFI router may work.

    Conditions:
    (a) User cannot have BSNL Extension in Room No 2 or room No 3 ( distance from Room No 1 approx 25 to 30 meters in same horizontal level)
    (b) cannot /will not use Rj45 to internconnect both wifi routers.

Please delete this page/link.. sorry. I asked for wrong menu page
    from memory.
Post the wireless Bridge page. confirm available in both routers.
Please reduce the picture size or use only Attachment mode.
Advanced menu page NSN wifi router. Your Image reduced size.

If both have the wds or wdm mode , you can try and post feed back.

Same page . agreed. Try the different menu options .
    Read the instructions on top.
enable "Access Poin"t and "bridge mode "
    Important
In wifi router No 1 go to Management and BACKUP
present settings to a folder say C:/My Documents /NSN wifi OK
    2.
Duplicate all settings in wa 3002 -g4
    3.
with both wifi routers in SAME room change above settings in both.
and check in laptop any other wifi network appears ( keep Channel No 11 in both ).

    4. The wlan ethernet card may also need some settings changes.
    Later.
    .

    feedback please.

Ensure you can connect to Internet
either in LAN mode or wifi mode
with both wifi routers. sl2 141 and wa 3002_g4
Check signal level in Room No 3. ( router/s in room No 1)
    Confirm.
Back up settings. ( for future use )
    2.
Now try changes in wireless Bridge page settings.
