    Exclamation Belkin f7d1401zb ADSL modem/router disconnects often

    I am using a Belkin f7d1401zb ADSL Modem/ wifi router to connect to BSNL broadband directly. I purchased it because BSNL is delaying replacing their modem after it got burned in lightning.

    I am able to configure and connect to internet.
    Connecting the modem by LAN cable..
    But it disconnects every other minute and reconnects.

    I am using windows 7 x86.

    using the ADSL splitter for the phones ?
    Modem/ wifi router to connect to BSNL broadband directly.
    Whether you use the phone or not :
    connect the phone in ADSL splitter Phone port only.

    If the earlier modem got" burned out" ;
    There could be problem in your telephone line.

    From Belkins menu pages extract
    SNR/ATTN/SYNC RATE RATE and Mod mode selected.
    post details here.
    If possible uncheck adsl2+ box

    Yes with ADSL splitter.. LAN connected to ADSL port.

    It was a heavy lightning that burned out all Modems in the neighbourhood.
    They sorted it out and phone line is back.

    Unable to locate the menu page where mod modes are selected.
    Usually under DSL menu. will update if found in Google search.

    Your Line is extremely bad. How you get Internet connection is a surprise !
    Complain to BSNL. ATTN below 30 db preferred.

    120 dB???? never reported earlier.Upstream also 155 dB ???

    Ok.. I was not aware of that. Will complaint. Do you think that is the reason for frequent disconnects. It used to work fine earlier with BSNL's modem!!

    check in friend's modem in location nearby !
    It used to work fine earlier with BSNL's modem!!
    Before Lightning strike which damaged many modems ???

    The Telephone ringer is Ok ? Headset without any noise/crackling etc ?


    (db dB appear to be same. update due )

    On second thought.. there is slight crackling in the phone...
    I should report this to bsnl i guess..
