    Default FTP is only working in bridge mode?! (WA3002-G4)

    Here's the problem:

    When i put my modem (WA3002-G4) in bridge mode (dialer), i am able to use FTP (meaning i can establish a connection to the FTP server, dl and up files etc). But when i put it in PPPoE mode i am not able to use FTP

    I checked under "Access Control -- Services" FTP is enabled for both LAN and WAN.
    I did port forwarding (with port 21) for FTP but that did not work.
    I tried adding DMZ host as 192.168.1.1, but that did not work.

    Since i am able to use FTP in bridge mode, I don't think there is any Firewall (or any other software) issue. The reason i want to use my modem in PPPoE mode is to use wifi.

    Is there there something else i could try?

    Advanced options/ Routing/ "Default Gateway" Enabled ?
    Disable Firewall in modem.
    mention any particular ftp site. not accessed.
    {AccessControl" all boxes LAN/WAN side enabled.}
    Mention DNS values entered in modem.
    Feedback.

    "Bridged" all ports open FTP OK
    Update 0540 PM : mention browser used IE/ Firefox .( OS also )
    can you try with a different modem ?
    Google search: no definite answer available so far.
    try a FTP application.

    <EDIT: crossposted with essbebe>

    I don't think there is any Firewall (or any other software) issue.
    The only way to be sure is to do a brief test with all firewall software disabled. Also to check the logs of your firewall/AV software.

    Are other net services ok? You can browse ok?

    You'd better post your OS name and version, along with the output of IPCONFIG /ALL if it is Windows.

    Also, best to give your FTP software details, and the exact error message, if any.

    In short: tell all! You'll get better help that way.

    At this point, I'd bet Rs.2 (but no more! ) on firewall settings...

    Which firewall are you using ? Comodo has reported similar problem. Disabling and check will be a good option.
