    Default How to change the password

    Hi guys.. !!!

    Now that when I have got the BB connection I want to know how to change the password for my BB connection.

    Also I would like to know who would provide me my email id and password as I am entitled to get one under the plan.(BBG HOME COMBO UL 625).

    I have only received my BB connection ID and password.

    BSNL has now withdrawn the facility to change Broadband password. With the port binding in place (your telephone line is connected to a fixed port in the network room), it is no more possible to use BB services from any other telephone other than your own.

    However, you can change your portal password. The portal is maily useful to check usage and status of new service requests. To get portal Id/pwd, contact the exchange.

    For mail id/pwd, once again contact the exchange.

    Hope you got the consumer number from A.O or telephone Bill ). needed to register at selfcare.sdc.bsnl.co.in

    verifying whether UserID PW now default "password" can be changed.
    If you change the Service password, change ALSOin wan page PPPOE'Alway On " mode.
    Dialer mode (USERiD/PW entered externally in computer Window )
    not affected.
    wait ......

    Possible in BSNL Portal. Selfcare portals can have same menu options in different layout.Please confirm later as I cannot access selfcare portals.

    Use a good firewall ( I am using Zonealarm free) or if using WiFi choose a good encryption like WPA2 or similar. Also change the modem access password from " admin " to some other of your choice. Since port binding is in place, others won't be able to use your connection even if they get your password.

    @cyberboy_909
    approx 90 % to 95% of BB users ( include me also ) do not know/use LINUX OS.
    BSNL BB user for 4 years, and your advice seems ODD.
    Used windoze all editions
    and now using on Windows7 Professional.
    2.
    Website reports error "1002" usually for Windows OS.
    BSNL has sent email to me, that
    there is server trouble at Bengaluru and fault will be rectified soon
    .

    Browser IE8/FireFox/Chrome etc MUST work ONLY with LINUX OS ?
    to access Change of Service ID/PW in Bsnl usage portals ?\
    the " change service password " page . this page can't b open a Windows Operating System
    Clarify please.
    Also details of the BSNL usage portal you access.

    the problem is not at Bengaluru only , almost all of the BSNL BB users facing this problem & it is the problem from BSNL's side only . Hope BSNL recover this problem soon

    the problem is whenever anyone trying to access Change of Service ID/PW in Bsnl usage portals from an windows OS , the routing table is creating some problem
    so whnever anyone tries to assess that password change page from a Linux based OS u r succeed to login & cng pass without any problem as u r using linux os and BSNL servers also runs on Unix platform (basically linux ) so no conversion is required
    but in case of Windows OS , the router in between ur computer and BSNL server has to convert your request cming from windows operating system to a server running on Linux based OS and thus creating problem
    I hope I have made u understand y the problem is in windows operating system only

    u will not get IE 8 in Linux OS as Linux is open source & Microsoft will not made IE open source ..... just use Firefox / Chrome in Linux OS ..... u cn easily login to that page and cng ur BB pass without any problem

    @cybherboy.
    Your solution is beyond practical use to many users.
    Will give feedback when BSNL rectifies their server problem, and
    I get reply from BSNL technical wing .

    2.
    access the portal which everybody ( including u ) access : "data.bsnl.in"
    srry can't post link as m new here and no. of post is less than 15
    Select "Go Advanced " and post as annexure.
    or select YellowIcon above and insert the picture.
    Or upload at say tinypic.com and give the link
    omitting http://www.
    Check my signature link "monitor"

    3.Easiest method is to ask Broadband Section of your exchange to change the service password or pretend you forgot it !. They can change it !!

    @anant9
    4.
    Presume you did not use LINUX OS!!!
    I had reported problem with data.bsnl.in with windows OS.
    Other users at selfcare portal/s have not responded.
    four usage portal sites.
    ndc edc sdc wdc
    Point of Interest :
    Whether the link is same asking you to log in again with
    @bsnl.in use ID.
    feedback please.

    @essbebe,i use bsnl portal BSNL Portal & used IE6 in pppoe mode to change password & i just tried & got upto this screen:

    cyberboy 909 assumption about routing table should not apply in case of pppoe mode because modem uses its own routing tables in case of pppoe mode & almost all modems/routers use variants of unix/linux os.

    @ i think u don't even want to try any other OS leaving ur beloved Windows OS
    ...... its up to u , b with it

    I get reply from BSNL technical wing .
    their reply is : " thr may b some prob in the server , your connection is port binded , so don't worry "

    those BSNL officers came to my house and tried a lot to cng my bb pass and in the end said those words and gone

    Easiest method is to ask Broadband Section of your exchange to change the service password or pretend you forgot it !. They can change it !!
    I think that will b the toughest method

    Easiest mothod is to boot your pc with a linux OS ( even no need to install it also ) open that password cng page using built in Firefox ,change your pass and thn again boot to to ur favourite windows OS ..... in total a work of 10 to 12 mins..... bt anyway its up to u

    Tried with IE9 windows 7 pro. also FF.. still error message."1002"
    I am in "always on" Mode PPPoE.
    Please confirm you tried today and reached this page.
    Can report to BSNL again.
    will try later with BSNL dns servers.
    2.
    Under the impression that users from U.P usage portal will be http://selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in
    May be as an old user your portal is still http://data.bsnl.in.

    @essbebe,yes!my portal is http://data.bsnl.in/ only select major cities of UP have been added to the selfcare portal till now.i reached the password change page on 5th may(since now it is 6th may)at 10:18PM.besides changing dns servers to default bsnl ones only other thing i can suggest is just try in safe mode with networking.it shouldn't be any problem since you are using pppoe mode via lan & keep bsnl dns servers while doing this.also disable any ie addons(something like firefox safe mode which disables all addons temporarily).

    @cyberboy-909

    @whitestar_999 has refuted your contention, and he has accessed
    the page correctly using IE6 windows OS etc.

    I can change the PW with one phone call to the Exchange, and forget about LINUX etc ! ( walking distance 5 minutes from my location !).
    I never tried earlier, and thread starter ( new member ) has raised the subject.
    the thread is about
    whether Service PW can be changed in usage portal ?
    YES. temporarily not available.

    Problem in User's setup
    or Bsnl server?Apache Tomcat/5.5.25

    You should post the page for record here.
    as screen shot attachment or Insert.
    will help me to report to BSNL>
