Speed depends mainly on the line condition. When I had ULF 1100 plan (now discontinued), I used to get only 180 KBps instead of 2 Mbps (my line is brand new).

Check your SNR and attenuation values. If still no improvement, try talking to the SDE of your exchange.

You should look for SNR and Attenuation. This may help

    Hi frends !!
My problem is similar to this so I am posting it here.

I was provided the BB plan BBG HOME COMBO 625(Unlimited@256Kbps). After I applied thorugh UDAAN and then subsequently gave a written application to change my plan to BBG FN COMBO 500 on 2 May, today my request for the plan change was updated (As told by the customer care @ 1500. Actually when I called them to know the status they said it was showing BBG COMBO 625 but during the conversation the plan was updated to the requested one).

But the issue is my speed hasn not increased to 2 Mbps as it should. I am using SIEMENS c2110 modem. Is there any change that I need to do in the modem configuration or shall I lodge a complaint for this.

    1. Register here and check the " orders " page

    http://selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in

If in doubt, blacken the personal details and post the screen shot.

    2. This may help

    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...firmation.html (Plan change confirmation)

    3. Check with someone in the tech department (if possible, SDE).

    4. No, there is no need to change any modem settings.

    5. Check the status using the lead ID given by the Udaan site.

usually your downstream rate should be ~2048kbps on a 2mbps plan.it is a fact that higher the speed at which your modem syncs with local exchange lower will be the snr.if your modem syncs at 2048kbps & still snr is below 25 then it is definitely line problem.for the time being try using line modulation type G.dmt or ADSL2(switch between them)to see if sync rate go down & snr goes up.this setting is usually under ADSL advanced settings in modem.

I cant register on the selfcare site as i dont have the customer ID. ALso I tried to get this ID from the AO but he asked me to wait for the bill.

Talked to SDE about it and shockingly he first said that on BBGFNCOMBO 500 gives speed of 256Kbps. But when I insisted that its 2 Mbps as per the plan, he asked to change the DNS to 8.8.8.8.

On UDAAN site it says "alloted for the feasibility".

But the CC guy at 1500 says the plan changed.

I think your plan is yet to change. Once it change, you will get somewhere around 200 KBps.

To register, you need your customer no (usually quoted in your bill). You can ask someone helpful at your exchange and get the same. A few users had to contact customer care and get registered.
