i am using splitter, first the main line from exchange goes to splitter and than from splitter to my modem and my phone.
    i am using g.lite mode(on home 750 ul plan)

    1. Splitter may be faulty. Replace and check.

    2. Check the ethernet cable. If have a spare, use it and check.

    3. Switch to GDMT and check.

    4. Check your line and get it fixed. Make sure there are no joints or non insulated parts.

Seems the problem is from the ac ringer voltage. (surge or high voltage)
If your instrument has switch for low/med/high ringing sound
    try different settings.
High resistance telephone line ( corroded/rusted/blackened/oxidized)
intermittent joints can also addd to the problem.
( Attn data gives you an idea)
    2.
Try with a different Telephone. The latest models may suppress the surge.
    3.
A "Hiss" sound in telephone when working Broadband
indicates wrong connection from ADSL splitter .
Even with splitter Modem is connected direct to Phone junction.

ADSL splitter blocks DATA signal ( lowpass filter circuit inside)
    from entering telephone .

Even if no phone is used connected ,
DC/can be present in the line. ( also AC ringer voltage when calls are made. )
If Landline phone is not used either for Incoming or Outgoing calls , Exchange can be requested to disconnect telephone side.
( Line men use this to check fault/ line conditions/continuity to Exchange )

    feedback required.

    Default happend to me once

It had happend to me . What I suggest is that disconnect the splitter and directly join the line into dsl.
See if it disconnects your speed will improve a lot too. If it does not disconnect then its the problem of the splitter .
