Default not able to see usage in selfcare

I have BSNL HOMe 500 plan. I used to get mobile alerts for usage upto March 2011. Now I am not getting any alerts. Therefore I decided to see selfcare site. But I was shocked to see that it is telling I don't have any broadband connection. Therefore no usage nothing. Is it that they have changed plans from April 2011. How to see my usage? If they have changed plans, what is the plan one will get for the old BSNL home 500 plan? From their site, it is clear that they are not taking fresh registration for this plans. Can somebody give me some information?

Have you registered at portal ? You need to register using your consumer no. (from your bill).

Till this get fixed, try a bandwidth meter (most of us use one). Try one from Networx or Shaplus. Both has options to disable metering during Night Unlimited.

If you are in Mumbai ( Kalyan area)
    Go to
    Loading Portal...
access the site andREgister with your own choice of ID.
    Consumer number as mentioned above.
Password will be sent to you by email.
Thereafter, you can ( hopefully) check your usage MY Orders PW change etc ( also telephone bill details etc )

I have already registered. I was checking my usage in the selfcare portal only. Now when I go to check my usage, in the facilities availed section, I was shown as if I don't have Broadband Connection. BSNL is playing jokes. That is why I am asking whether the old Home 500 plan has changed or not.

BSNL has withdrawn Home 500 plans. Though old customers are allowed to use it.

    Web Registration for Usage Alerts

sometimes you may get false alerts!

Download application NetworX and keep track of your usage.

For Chennai circle : Number may be same for others also.

    Broadband usage this month
Send SMS bbu<space>044<telephone number > (*044 std code)
    Example: BBU 04424700033

Send SMS to 52295 ( fromBSNLmobile)

Send SMS to 9448077777 ( from other mobile provider)

BSNL do not update your usage details in real time. There is normally a lag of one to two days. Most of us use a bandwidth meter to keep an eye on our usage. Try one of these (or both)

    1. Bandwidth monitor, bandwidth speed test, bandwidth and traffic monitoring tool for Windows

    2. ShaPlus Bandwidth meter - Free bandwidth monitoring software
