Post Plan Change and Connection Problems :(

    Hi,

I have been using Home 500C+ Plan. I gave the written application to change my plan to Home UL900D yesterday and the SDE said that it will be changed yesterday itself or today! I had been getting some speed of 200+ kb per second for downloading when I started using the connection and from last 2 months, I am only getting 60-70 kbps.

When I checked the new self care portal, it shows that my plan is Home UL900D. This means that my plan has changed? I have seen complaints for over-billing even after plan change, in this community. Thats why I'm asking.

And what download speed I should normally get for my new connection? They says its 4MBPS till 8GB and 256 beyond that. What should be my exact transfer rate while using 4 MBPS?

My current speedtest result is attached below!

Ask/contact Broadband section to change the speed of your connection to 4Mbps.

For 4 Mbps the speed you should get ( ideal)
    4096.divided by 8=512KB/SEC
    for 256 Kbps speed(ideal) 32 KB/sec.
    Ratio of speed 1 :16.
1MB file will be downloaded in 2 seconds and 30 sec approx

consider these plans ; Check telephone rent and call details.

BB Home UL 750 OR BB Home Combo UL 750 ( speed 512 Kbps)

    48 KB/sec 3 MB/min 180 MB/hour in 6 Hours 1 GB ( all approx)
    Full month 30 GB.
( speeed will vary depending on your set up /line conditions etc )

With present plan 8GB can be downloaded in less than say 5 to 6 hours !!!
    4Mbps 512KB/sec 1 MB/2sec 30 MB/min 1800MB /hour say 1.5GB/hour
    Then snail speed 256Kbps 32 KB/sec.
Calculate for 6 hours/day average usage full month. 15 GB

    Thanks for the reply guys

I just called our local exchange and they confirmed the plan change. When I asked them to do uncapping, they told me that they don't even know what it is.

    what should I do now?

I'm currently getting 70-80 Kbps for download

Make an online complaint here. web site address in picture.
Scroll Grievance column and select Broadband etc.
wait for three days > feedback.

    Download tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net.
Select optimal values and keep slider at 4 Mbps.
    Check speed again.

Talk to the SDE. Call customer care and ask for his no. Explain the situation and seek help. A visit in person may give good results.
