Default [HELP] NOKIA Siemens Residential Router 1600 Disconnects Frequently

Initially I had problems with two connections.
    1. WiFi
    2. Lan

when i used both of these my router got disconnected every-time as soon as I turned on my PC while keeping laptop connected via WiFi. I fed up with this and stopped using LAN connection keeping my WiFi on and working on the Laptop only. since last two days the problem started with the single connection also.

Now I can not work on WiFi too as it disconnects frequently. My telephone line is working fine and I tested it with another router and that works fine with two connections (WiFi+LAN) I can't figure out how to resolve it, I have tried resetting the router to factory settings and configuring it again.

Please help me out this is adversely affecting my work. I have contacted BSNL people and they said it was a temporary problem and In fact it is not as the line is working fine and If i use another router it works best.

    1. Configure your modem in PPPoE mode.

    2. Enable DHCP in the modem.

    3. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection (both machines), set " Obtain IP address automatically " and check.

Since it is working fine with other modem, your modem might be faulty. Take it to the exchange and ask them to check in your presence. If not working, purchase / get a replacement from BSNL.

hmm yes it is faulty. anyway it can be restored via upgrading the firmware or some other method. When i use it only with LAN it works fine.

Try resetting the modem and check. Not sure if local technicians are familiar with it. Take to BSNL office, may be somebody there has an idea. Because such modems are serviced only by BSNL technicians.
