Thread: all bsnl users having same NAT type?

hey guys im having nat type 2 having zte ZXDSL 531BII V7.3.0f_D09_IN but i think all we have same nat type 2 only or anyone having open nat type.im playing on xbox live & psn so any one able to open their nat type successfully?
if yes then how to do that?

You have to be connected in PPPoE "Always On" mode
SERVICEUSERID/PW entered/stored in WAN menu page.
Uncheck "bridging" and select PPPoE

thx for reply . but i have these settings which u mentioned but still nat type 2.
is there any way we can open NAT means type 1 & does we all having nat 2 with bsnl whichever the modem???

Most adsl modems ( called type 1 by BSNL)
and adslmodem+wifi router ( called type 2 etc by BSNL)
have these options.

There is no NAT 1 and NAT 2 classification.

im talking about NAT network address translator.while playing games online u can see your nat type.for my pc,xbox live & playstation network it said my nat type is moderate means type 2,nat 1 is called open which is best & strict means u have nat type 3.so i think on bsnl network we all have nat type 2.

NAT 1 will work just as well. That basically means you have a direct connection online with no router
NAT 2 refers to connections with a router in place but no firewall.
NAT 3 is a more restricted type, being behind both a router and firewall with most ports closed.

i have some doubts for it but now sure that which ever modem u r using all have NAT type 2 right....so no need to buy costly ones

For getting NAT 1
use the PPPOE from desktop or WAN Miniport for getting a direct connection online with no router while using your computer for playing online game.

For getting NAT 1 with using a router set your x-box port address open in router or use the DMZ option and put the IP address on it.
