i want configure my modem. plz tell me which is best configuration for my modem ZTE zxdsl 531b.

for

1. security
2. speed
3. connectivity

Security
Presume you are already connected to Internet ZTEZXDSL 531B wifi router.
either in LAN mode or WIFI mode.

Confirm you have enabled Firewall and wireless security key in the unit.
Also the Windows Firewall ( If OS is Windows : mention version )
You can also use Antivirus application and Firewall in your systems.

Speed
Mention your tariff plan and test your speed here twice.

Connectivity
Your ISP/speed of tariff plan
Choice of DNS: autoBSNL DNS selection or user's choice.
Re check speed after each tweak .

Use a good firewall ( Eg. Zonealarm free ) and both PPPoE and Bridge work fine. If you want a refined result, better use PPPoE mode.

1. Security

PPPoE is considered safer as you have protection of hardware firewall. Still using bridge with a good firewall is equally secure.

2. Speed

Speed will be the same in both PPPoE and bridge. If you are using WiFi, signal strength matters.

3. Connectivity

Both PPPoE and bridge will work fine

But if you want to share more than one system, you should be in PPPoE.
