Default Underground fitting results in frequent disconnection and speed loss.

    Hey

I just got the broadband installed today. The person who came advised me to change the fitting. The fitting is underground along with some electrical cables may be. He told that it would result in some magnetic interruption and losses. As per him, that is the major cause of frequent disconnecting of internet and he also said that speed loss also would be there. So, he asked me to get the wire fitting directly from outside to splitter with no involvement of underground fitting. Shall be thankful if anyone woulld help me regarding this. Is this rally a p;oint worth bothering. I am asking because it would be quite a task to get those fittings and I personally dont like wires moving here and there in your house.. thanx!!

Use the connection for few days...

If you experience any problems post it here...

    And don't ever trust BSNL...

It is true and infact your electrician should have done wiring thru two separate concealed pipes and to two separate switch boxes.

It may be that your electrician has not got field experience with internet and telephone cables yet.

    Thanks,

    :
BSNL prefers underground cables from their Telephone BOX (P1) in the Street
Again they connect U/G to flat complexes/ house and terminated in a Junction box (P2)( usually about 8 lines ( pairs) RJ11 cable.
From here it is the duty of BSNL to use PVC pipe and give one PORT(P3) for telephone at place of your choice. ( above ground )

The Internal Phone wiring to different rooms
    is customer's responsibility.

    Electric Power:
Also U/G ( recommended depth 4 feet below road level) and giving
in a Distribution Board in the house with FUSE carriers etc.
Wiring is done by the customer ( NOT U/G!) and tested by Elect board officials before supply can be given.

The question of Telephone cables and Power cables bunched together,
    should not normally arise.

In which case P2 to P3 should isolate the cables.
No owner allows diggging up the earth to run a RJ11 cable to their telephone.

I did not pay for the cost of PVC pipe and One Telephone port a distance of 60 feet from P2 to P3. ( same for other flat owners )

Underground digging allowed for 10 feet. distance from road to flat P2.
