Thread: Unable to connect to internet and wifi

I have been using BSNL broadband connection for last few years. My connection was working through LAN and wifi till I was using windows XP. When my laptop crashed I upgraded to Win 7. My wired internet was working but my wifi was not working. SO I brought a new modem Edimax 7284WnA which is ADSL 2 modem + wifi router. I am unable to connect internet both through LAN and wifi. The wifi signal is shown on my machine but it says no internet access. My router came with a CD, but the router pasword I type in say there is a error. Can some one guide me step by step as to how set it up. Thanks for it in Advance.

Thanks Dilip that was quick, the problem is I am not able to access the router from my machine there is a password error, i tried resetting still doesnot work. Is there any other way to diagnose what is wrong.

Edimax7284Wna adsl+wifi router.
Try password: 1234 ?

Thanks ESSBEE, I was trying 1234 only, it is not opening. My old modem was from ITI - (received from BSNL). If you want ipconfig I can share the same. Also want to mention that I am not a techie.

(A)Usually A RESET switch in the back operated for about 10 to 20 seconds will restore factory settings.
Try it.
(B)Mention BSNL modem/router number .
IF SEM or teracom check link "TERACOM" below. for screenshots etc.
I also have Windows 7 OS.

(C) When you are online check your IP here.
What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...
say 117.xx.xx.xx
Post it here and remain online.
I can access YOUR MODEM settings ONLY to check it up. ID admin PW admin confirm.

TEST:Check mine and report my modem number. till 1145AM.
type 117.193.35.190 id admin PW: password.

This is set up is required for home Laptop. I am at work now, I will do it in the evening or tommorow. Thanks for your help
