Thread: BSNL BB conn specific to desktop ?

Hello,

Is the BSNL broadband connection specific to Laptop or Desktop ? I am using a BB conn for Desktop for quite some time but now I have got a Laptop. Do I need to change the Router / Model to be able to connect to laptop ? I called CC but they do not have any proper answer and couldn't solve my problem..

Please mention, your current modem - model and make.

If it has more than one LAN ports (check behind the modem where you have plugged a the cable connection modem and PC), you can use it with laptop using an ethernet cable.

But if you want to use it wirelessly, you need a WiFi modem + router from BSNL.
It costs Rs. 1,800 for outright purchase or Rs. 80 per month rent. Post the modem details here once you have it. Either get it configured by the BSNL staff or we can give appropriate guide for the same.

It depends upon ur modem type. If it is a simple (non wi-fi) then only through LAN desktop & laptop can be connected.
If the modem is wi-fi enabled then u can connect desktop via LAN & lappy via wi-fi. Every thing depends upon the model of ur modem u r using.
