Thread: Need help on ZTE ZXDSL 831 AII modem bsnl connection

hello friends i have an ZTE ZXDSL type 1 modem which i had success fully used since i changed my plan for BB from 500 C to 750 UL , now from last one month my network connection is working silly , i have speed in torrents as it should be but the http downloads and browsing never starts and ping shows results such as this one:

dsl cabel and every other thing is fine i have checked it several times also the busnl guys whom i called, the funny thing is there modem works fine on my line and mine not while i checked this modem at my friends home and it works fine there.

i will soon post the SNR values as soon as i find the page to it, also is it local snr margin or simple SNR?

i still have this modem (kept in box closed) as i dont use it now because i have surrendered my broadband.
but still i'll try to help you out.
tell me if your modem is config. on PPPOE mode (always online) or Bridge mode (connected by dialing from windows).....???

also tell me how is the browsing...???

i am using bridge mode and browsing is not fine it show several time out errors and i have to retry several time(refresh page) to open any site (including small size sites as google etc) , i also tried the pppoe mode but all in-vain....

Very poor feedback.
Try to get another a modem from a friend and test your line.
or if possible exchange the modem at BSNL.

have you tried changing DNS..??? i remember when i used to have broadband 7 months before, ther used to be the same issue as yours. at that time downloading used to work perfectly but no browsing. then i changed DNS and it did worked for me.

so before changing your modem permanently, do this last try. May be this will save your 1000 bucks
