Thread: Connect the BSNL AR800V and Linksys E1000

Hi,

I am trying to give more signal reach for my BSNL internet and purchased the Linksys E1000 router. I want to now use my BSNL AR800V Modem as a modem now and use the Linksys as my wireless transmitter. I use a winXP desktop and tried to call the Linksys guys to rectify this but nothing works. If i connect the modem directly to the machine the internet work fine but when I put the router inbetween the modem and the machine, the internet is not on and i do not get any connection.

Quick Specs Glance:
Machine ; Desktop Windows XP
Modem : BSNL AR800V
Router : Linksys E1000
Circle : BSNL Chennai

Please help me out here.

Connect AR800 in "Always On" PPPoE mode
( USERID/PW stored/entered in wan page )
Enable DHCP.
In Linksys

You can click different menu options. ( Emulator page )

Connect RJ45 from LAN1 of AR800 to WAN ( Internet Port of Linksy's )

( AR800 and Linksys WIFI router cannot link in wifi mode
( repeater mode )an option called WDM required )

The ssid of AR800 and Linksys will be different.

Confirm you can work with a desktop in LAN mode and a LAPTOP
in WIFI mode .

One of us will access the wifi router AR800 and correct the setting for
"Always On" PPPoE mode and enable DHCP etc.
Note: only your router will be accessed.
Confirm ID/PW for accesssing AR800 V3 has not been changed.
