    Default Rebooting modem

I am using a 600 plan of bsnl broadband.modem is DNA-A211-I. i wanted to reschedule my modem for the night usage purposes.but the term that found everywhere was "rebooting the modem".Does this mean that i have to keep the modem on and till the time scheduled it will be connected to the internet and transfer bytes or will it be disabled n switched on at the time given during the rebooting process.

the problem i was facing is that i switch on the modem at about 12 in the night and from 12-2 data transfer is there automatically n i lose my usage around 100 MB. so could u pls help me in this.

    and
    Auto-connect Download scheduler « PC-Gyaan was recommended.

actually the software helps in rebooting the modem in an always on connection. mine is similar to that. is there any way u can make an always on connection to a one using an username and password. so i can connect and disconnect when i want. or else can the same be made in an always on connection that is both connecting and disconnecting manually

and could u pls tell me what is PPPoE and bridge mode.

    Default

pppoe mode is the always on mode while in bridge mode you dial the connection from your computer using username/password.you can configure modem to use either pppoe or bridge mode.in both cases your modem must be on for connection to be made with the difference being in pppoe mode modem connects to net automatically without any dependence on pc while in bridge mode if pc is off there is no connection even if modem is on.

the problem i was facing is that i switch on the modem at about 12 in the night and from 12-2 data transfer is there automatically n i lose my usage around 100 MB. so could u pls help me in this.
more detail needed.are you experiencing this even after turning off all automatic updates options(windows, antivirus, softwares etc)?if yes then see this:
http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...ree-usage.html (warning regarding pppoe mode & 2-8AM free usage)
if no then disable all automatic update options.

for configuring in bridge mode just search your modem name with bridge mode.
