Default Very high packet loss for the last 3 days

For the last 3 days i have been getting 5-10% packets lost and 30-40ms higher than normal.

Regularly every 25 packets sent there is 1 packet lost; if not more at times. Sometimes 2 packets lost together.

This is happening with pings to all servers.

    here is my modem stats:
    Code:
    Local Tx Power:	8.3 dB
    Remote Tx Power:	12.5 dB
    Local Line Atten.:	9.5 dB
    Remote Line Atten.:	6.0 dB
    Local SNR Margin:	31.5 dB
    Remote SNR Margin:	19.5 dB
    Self Test:	Passed
    DSL Standard:	ADSL2+
    Profile:	MII
    Tx Line Rate:	639 Kbps
    Rx Line Rate:	6143 Kbps
Max Attainable Line Rate(Down Stream):	20362 Kbps
    windows 7 os

phone line is working fine (no noise or anything)
i cannot see any break in the wire from my pc to bsnl hub, also line man has come and seen the line and repaired a few months ago.

Is there something wrong with my modem setup for BSNL ?

I also have an airtel connection on the same modem but on that there is much less packet loss.

Mention your location so that someone from same location can confirm whether it is a line issue.

No the connection hasn't dropped but i get a lot of packet loss/high latency/slow speeds.

anyway I changed to G.DMT and the adsl stats from my modem page right now are as follows:

    Code:
    Local Tx Power:	10.7 dB
    Remote Tx Power:	17.6 dB
    Local Line Atten.:	15.0 dB
    Remote Line Atten.:	5.0 dB
    Local SNR Margin:	16.0 dB
    Remote SNR Margin:	11.0 dB
    Self Test:	Passed
    DSL Standard:	G.dmt
all the power snr and atten values are lower, what does this mean ?
