Arrow Help to setup a Wifi network

    Hello friends!
I have decided to setup a wifi network in my home.I am in UL 750 plan(512 kbps) with AdSL SIEMENS C2110.Is that ok to setup a wifi network??I think I need to buy a wireless router for this purpose.Which Wireless router should I buy?I also need to share the internet connection to all my devices, does it take any effect to my internet speed?
    Thank you.

    Your ISP Bsnl ?
    1.
If modem on rent exchange it for a 3-in1 Adslmodem/+4lanPort+wifi router. ( BSNL Price Rs 1800+ 10.3% Taxes rental Rs 80/=P.M)
    2.
If exchange not possible take one on rent.
The wifi router most likely will be similar to C2110 PLUS wifi menu pages.

    3.
    If satisfied with performance retain.
If not get a wifi router example Netgear wgr614v9( starting price Rs 1500/= and above )
If the range of wifi activity is (radius more than 30 feet) higher priced models with multiple antennae suggested

    Para two:
List desktop/laptops /smartphones etc in use.
Also OS used :If Windows 7 confirm. No wifi router needed .

    Feedback.

Thanks for the info!I think the exchange might not possible here,I have windows 7 and also try to create a wireless network, but I am not sure if it works or not.Have a look at this,is there any way to test if my wifi adapter is working or not?because currently, I don't have any other device for immediate testing purpose.

Default OS: WINDOWS 7 C2110 adsl modem

    4.
In your desktop or laptop confirm there is a wireless LAN adapter.
    in Laptop
    Start run type cmd Ok.
    New window
    type ipconfig /all
    Check WLAN adapter details.
Copy/paste only wlan details or attach here as *.doc

    5.
If available download "connectify" and install in the LAPTOP
    (connected to Modem Lan port).

    6.
Check wifiIcon network appears in laptop/taskbar...left of LS icon.

The icon will change to LAN or wlan according to your connection.
Both do not appear . I have wifi router ON as well as Lan connected.
.When I switch off WIFI (with laptop switch) Lan Icon will appear.

    7.
If not Set up a wireless network .
If your wlan is working , you may see other wifi ssid's in range.

Better get a WiFi modem plus router for rent from BSNL.

Connectify is also good, but you need an USB WiFi dongle for your desktop (costs around Rs. 900) and Windows 7 Home Premium or above.

I have a motherboard ASUS P5BMX/WIFI/AP,with inbuild wireless LAN card it comes with an antenna too.I am planning to buy a new router probably Netgear or anything else,I also have a plan to have broadband connection from cable operator o sify broadband instead of BSNL,if I do so,then I definitely need a wireless router from 3rd party.

    Default Try connectify

Try connectify after you establish the Broadband connection. It is a software which is used to configure the laptop wireless card as a wireless router

I have several issues to confirm because I am pretty noob in it,I told you guys earlier that my motherboard ASUS P5BMX/WIFI/AP inbuilt wifi card,it also came with a small antenna which has to be connected to the computer. The problem is, it seems that I have lost the antenna, now, will that take any effect to my wifi connection??if it is,then I need to start it all over again by buying a separate wireless adapter card, router e.t.c.I have searched devices by the device identifire and it shows that I have a wireless network adapter, but I am afraid if it will work perfectly.Kindly please tell me the exact way to setup a good Wireless connection. Please mention any tutorial on it.
I have already installer connectify, but it doesn't work,I cannot connect to the internet as it shows error 651(modem error).
Mr essbebe seems disagree with me in the question of giving up my BSNL connection, please mention the reason.I am facing frequent disconnection problem for quite some time,I have reported to the BSNL guys for several time but they are not taking any action on it,all they can do,just call me from the local exchange confirming that the phone line is working 'ok',I have tried to get their attention regarding the poor internet service(poor Attentuation,SNR status)but they doesn't care about it.Does cable BB connection have the same problem?
I have lots of query, please help!

No problem, we will try out best to solve it

A broken antenna may cause poor signals. But you can make one yourselves. See this

    Google

Forget about Connecitify, can you connect to internet using your current set up (or using a back up connection) ? Which mode are you in ? PPPoE or Bridge ?

Once you can connect to net on your desktop with WiFi card, it is just like a laptop with WiFi adapter. Use this guide to use Connectify

    USE short paragraphs.

(1)Do not use full quote in posts . tend to miss the points and reply in general.
Use short quotes : which shows you have read the member's post and need clarification on a particular point.
    Example Post No 10.
Scrolling up and down the page we miss the information/queries ,
and the thread goes off tangent.
    (2)
EDIT and delete full quotes.in your recent post/s
Possible for one day in this forum.
    (3)
whatever I had posted you have not understood
    or
may be not related to the subject or a reply what you wanted .!!
you talk about broken antenna !.
    (4)
    STEP1:
Download TeamViewer and contact me or @meetdilip to set up a Wireless Network for you ONLINE>

    (5)
    STEP 2 :
The ISPs you have selected are as good or as bad as BSNL.
Try AIRTEL. Get a wifi modem/router from Airtel.

You mean to say you cannot connect to internet using PPPoE after installing Connectify ? Confirm you had to uninstall it to connect to net again.

This may be of some use

    .
Connection disconnects. PW changes. for Team viewer.

Docomo network is a separate one, once I have connected my mobile with my PC to surf the net.Mostly I use BSNL.I need to know the connecting method in PPPoE mode,I always use dialer mode,I can see the Data light in ADSL is glowing after the setting has been done. Also the Data light remains off in dialer mode.

You can forget your wifi link with connectify if you remain in
    Dialer mode.
    buy a wifi router
    same problem.
( setting up is little complicated )
see guides by @just4kix in forum "Broadband How to ......"
No idea why you should use DNS of Symantec.
    preferred obtain dns automatically. or
    google 8.8.8.8 open dns 208.67.220.220

    para two ;
Connectify: downloaded and tested working fine.
    unfortunately i don't have a smartphone to test !!!
