Default Open DNS Blocking by Network Administration !!!!!

Okay so I was surfing the net this morning and surprise surprise...half of them turned out to be blocked domains..
Even harmless sites like IMDB, TV.com etc.
Eg. when going to IMDB, I was redirected to block.opendns.com/main
and the msg I got was
    This domain is blocked.

Site blocked. The Internet Movie Database (IMDb)[/url] is not allowed on this network.

This site was categorized in: Movies

    Contact your network administrator

Is this happening to anyone else from Gurgaon or any other place?
I am currently using an Open DNS...I'll switch to A BSNL DNS and see what happens.

I think may be something else is blocking, coz open DNS never block sites like
    IMDb e.t.c
I hope u r using this ip fr open DNS :

    Preferred DNS server :208.67.222.222
    Alternate DNS server :208.67.220.220

Thanks for the quick reply....I was using the very same Open DNS servers as the ones you have mentioned..
I am pretty sure that BSNL is the one behind the blocking as on the blocked Msg. page there was a logo of a rising sun and something in SANSKRIT written below it.
Anyways could someone tell me the fastest BSNL DNS for my region?

Also I am sure the Blocking involves BSNL as on the Blocking Msg. page there was a logo of rising sun and something written is Sanskrit under it.

Okay...the net's working fine again...the sites are opening
I had switched to BSNL DNS and the "blocked sites" were opening.
After that just to give it a try I switched back to Open DNS and restarted my PC and the net is back to normal...phew
Wonder what all that blocking was about though....

My wild theory: due to some glitch with updaters sending dynamic IP addresses to OpenDNS, some glitch connected you to someone else's OpenDNS account and the site blocking they had configured.

Unless you specifically want OpenDNS services, my general DNS advice: download namebench from Google (Easier to find it with Google than to give links here). If all you want is the fastest DNS, run this tool and it will tell you. It also tells you which DNS servers do stuff like hijack errors to blast you with advertising.
