    Default Very Low speed

    I'm using I Ball Baton modem. Net gets connected normally, but it's of very low speed. Download speed upto 20KB/s. My plan is 500Combo.
    The phone line is clear also. Is this problem due to any of the configurations or settings within my PC.. Please help

    Or click the Yellow Icon in this form and insert the link.
    Delete exisiting http:// in the window.

    Check MTU. I think 1492 is the recommended setting. Also change DNS to 208.67.222.222 and 8.8.8.8.

    If nothing works, reset the modem and configure again (Don't attempt if you don't know what you are doing).

    Please try TCp optimizer from speedguide.net.
    Mention modem/model/number.
    Team viewer later if needed. Or PM ID and PW now.
    Check speed here twice and report result.

    Impossible. Attenuation is so high and SNR so low. 2 db!!

    still you could get connected to Internet and can surf
    without any frequent disconnections ?
    ( maybe @whitestar_999 is right !!!)
    Change to GDMT and recheck SNR ATTN.

    Complain to BSNL for immediate attention.

    1. Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser.

    2. Enter ID and password as admin (this is for BSNL, for Reliance try " root ", " password " etc or check with them tomorrow).

    3. In the landing page or LHS menu, you can find details of your SNR and Attenuation.

    after typing the address i get this error

    The connection has timed out

    The server at 192.168.1.1 is taking too long to respond.

    Have you set your TCP/IP properties as " Obtain IP address automatically ". If not, try it.

    @manuhere88

    Please make an ONLINE complaint , if not done so far .
    wait..
    http://mis.bsnl.co.in/pgs/internet/pgwebregn.asp

    Also in your selfcare portal "sdc"

    @core

    If you are connected to Internet and can surf
    http://whatismyipaddress.com
    say Example 117.193.36.xxx
    Retype it in browser address bar.
    A window may open asking you to enter modem access Id/pw
    try.
    see link 192.168.1.1 below.
    Feedback.
