Which mode are you in ? PPPoE or Bridge ? Switch to other and check.

If possible, get a friend's modem at your place and check. It can confirm a modem fault.

Yes i tried the reset button and now it connects automatically when i switch on the modem so if i have to disconnect i have to switch it of.

I am in PPPoE mode and switching over to Bridge caused the internet led to function properly(stopped glowing continously) but i could not establish a internet colnnection.

In Bridge mode, internet LED won't blink. It blinks only in PPPoE. You need to create a dialer, input ID and password and then click " Connect " to access internet.

Why not stay in PPPoE ? It is more secure than bridge mode. Myself and a lot of other members using connection in PPPoE.
