Exclamation Configure Beetel 450 tc1 for BSNL

    Guys,

this forum is extremely helpful, but the thing is i am too much of a novice to even discern some of the instructions underway in some of the forums.

With this in mind, i have one question:

i bought a beetel 450 tc1 wifi modem/router for 1700rs. (hope its not too costly). Also, i am currently using a BSNL wired modem (ut300r2u) and i am typing this material through that. the reason i bought a new adsl2 modem was because my bsnl exchange said they were currently out of stock of wireless modems and hence asked me to purchase from outside.

That apart, i havent opened it from the box, can you please tell me like talking to a layman, what do i need to after connecting the 3 cables, the power, the LAN and the ethernet cable to the back of the router?.

What settings do i need to change after going to the 192.168.1.1 page?

Thanks a lot in advance. Please note that i need to make the modem working for both wired and wireless

a couple of other things, i have a username and password from BSNL, i also am on the 750 combo plan.let me know if you need additional details

    VPI/VCI for BSNL 0 and 35

With Factory settings if you use a Dialer you may get connected to BSNL .
    Enter in a system window USERID/PW .
If not Select PVC2 which could be 0 and 35.

    Default thanks essbebe

    Hi,

I tried the option you had suggsted given in the maharashtra bsnl link,

but the problem is, when i manually enter the vpi vci, and click on save, it says its duplicate and cant save,

Also, should i just go to PVC2 instead because that seems to select all the options for bsnl accordingly,.

    Can you please advise?

    Hi

the problem is even after i select pvc2, and save and then go to maintenance and say restart with current settings, it restarts but then when it comes to main page of interface setup it says that pvc0 is selected.

    I am confused.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi essbebe,

I just did what was said:
    1. go to ipv4 properties and set ip address and default gateway etc
    2. went to 192.168.1.1 and changed to PVC2 in interface setup page in INTERNET and clicked save
3.i then went to maintenance page and clicked on sysrestart with current setting.

but i am not able to browse, can u tell me wat the problem could be

could it be that the default gateway etc thats set initially could be different because i am from bangalore?

    Thumbs up a BIG Thanks

    Hi essbebe,

I stumbled upon another post in your forum which talked about Dialer mode.
Since you had suggested the same, i would want to thank you a lot

i Discovered how to connect to the internet through that.

My beetel 450TC1 is configured now ...without me doing anything..

The dialer mode is the best

    Thanks again.

One last question now, how do i setup a wireless connection now with thi?

    Thanks

    Congrats.
    Option 1:
In this router You might have selected PPPoE and entered your user name and PW in the menu pages.
This , i normally report as PPPoE "Always On " connection.
    Option2:
If you select 1483 bridged, ( or Bridged")in WAN setting you need not enter ID/PW in the router.
To connect you enter in a window of the system.
This I like to name as "Dialer" "Bridged: mode.
    Basically both are PPPoE.

All modems with Factory settings come default "bridged" mode
So when you use a dialer you may be connected to Internet.
( Router selects the correct virtual circuit ).If not usual procedures.

    ] rep 24+ for initiatiive &successful setup

    Para two:
One last question now, how do i setup a wireless connection now with this?
    WIFI settings.

Dont make any changes . Use the default SSID ( which should appear
in the Network page of computer )
use the key whatever is entered in wifi page. of router
EXAMPLE: similar model with 4 SSID options.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/attach...w-binatone.jpg
In thismodel: has option for SSID only two entries.
One is default as above ( reported cannot be changed also )
You have to select SSID Key 1 Name it say ggigw1986
    try without any security key.
If Ok try wPA-TSK security key.
if some problem try the Default ssid.

Feedback. ( (if needed screen shot can be posted . may be seen in AIRTEL forum threads SSID Mngmnr or something )

    NO in the modem itself.
Anyway to make changes in wifi page you have to
    open browser enter
    192.168.1.1 admin admin
status page will show normally VCO 0 Select VCO 2
No changes made in other menu pages.
    Select Wireless menu .

All other VCO's remain in 1483 bridged mode and will not connect to Internet.

    Dear Friends,

Kindly Help me. I have a 450TC1 ADSL2+ Router from Beetel. My service provider is BSNL in Hyderabad. The technician is Inefficient in configuring this modem.

So I followed all the previous steps and trying very hard to configure it.

But after saving PVC2 for Virtual Circuit in Interface Setup and restarting the Modem mentioning clearly to use current settings the modem goes back to PVC0. I've been trying since a month and paying free Internet bill without using the internet. Kindly HELP

    OS: Win 7

Once you save PVC2 for virtual circuit in Interface setup and restart the modem. Then go on to status tab and you will see like this
