    Default How to improve SNR and to decrease attenuation

    Friends I am using BSNL broadband connection. My problem is frequent disconnection of connection. When I checked SNR and attenuation it shows
    For Downlink SNR =5 dB
    attenuation = 50 dB

    for Uplink
    SNR =21 dB
    Attenuation = 31 dB

    How to improve my downstream SNR and to reduce attenuation? My modem is SmartAX MT882. Is this problem due to my modem? I'm using it since 2006 or should I complaint about this?? If so where to complaint. I tried BSNL toll free numbers 1500 and 1504 from my landline and it tells the "number doesn't exist . What to do with this?? Please support

    Try modem mode as GDMT.

    Eg.

    Ask the line man to give a clean line. Ask him to remove joints or non insulated parts etc. Check yourselves and confirm.

    It is better handled at line man level. If you are particular about complaining, try this link

    For improving SNR, replace your splitter and make use of google cables. Also , clean modem pins and remove any oxidised parts..

    Just gave a complaint to them, they will check it,,
