    Default BSNL Multiple Devices Connection

When my sister purchased a mbp only one of us could use the internet at a time otherwise we used to get ip address conflict error. we called the broadband person and he added some address or something and now both of us can access the net simultaneously. However i have recently purchased a galaxy s2 and sometimes the wifi works only to not work moments later. it still shows connected on the wifi screen but it does not work actually. so can i add some addresses or something so that it works out? i have read a lot of threads but nothing worked out for me . thanks in advance.
    i have a zte router.

I will be online upto 1245AM.

How about the first part ? PPPoE dhcp etc?

my ip address is 192.168.1.2 not in the range of 3 to 10 as u said.
    In mathematics X usually given A single value 3456 ,3 5 , 123 ETC (out of 3 to 10!!!in this case.) X+2= 5 so X is = ???
usually 192.168.1.2 is reserved as IP address for USB Port of ADSL modem ( convention )Not in use now > so OK.
The range you gave in Modem can be 192.168.1.2 to say 192.168.1.5
( DHCP seen in LAN page Advanced Options also UpnP enabled if seen )

seems Ok. If you had enabled Wireless in the modem
SSID name should appear in Galaxy S2.

If you both use Desktop in lan mode only confirm.
Open wireless page in modem and enable it
for entries see my signature link wa 3002-g4 similar model.
    Links with screen shots available
    http://www.chennai.bsnl.co.in/BBS/WA...eless_security

.try without any security key. (Optional) for testing
    try wpa security key.
    feedback.

    1. mac filter is disabled
    2. mbp means macbook pro
    3. by encryption i assume u mean password based security (like wpa-psk), if so then yes it works fine with and without encryption.
    4. i have 1 router and 3 wifi devices other then the host computer which is on lan. but i'll have to recharge my itouch 2g to see if it works fine. used to work like a charm before the broadband man came.
    thanks in advance

    Data we have

    1. Modem is in PPPoE.

    2. Mac Book Pro WiFi working fine with and without password / encryption.

    3. Enabled DHCP in modem.

    4. WiFi on mobile do not work with / without encryption.

    Hope the above are true.

In the TCP/IP properties of connection (all devices), set " Obtain IP address automatically " and check.

yes in my pc it is set to obtain ip automatically. don't no how to check on mbp (never used one). on s2 there is an option to use static ip in which one has to manually enter ip. that is off. same for itouch. still not working on s2 and itouch. and whatever happens please dont mess up on my sis' laptop she will kill me

Do one thing, ask your sister to turn off WiFi in her laptop (whenever you are free) and try connecting through your mobile without encryption.

Alternatively, enter static IP in your machines. Say 192.168.1.35, 192.168.1.40 for each machine and check.

    @meetdilip
yes even i believe 2 devices can run at a time so when hers is off mine will work.
However, the problem has been solved, atleast for the moment by using a static ip and is working wonderfully on my s2. however, are there any side effects to using a static ip? still thanks a ton

All your wifi enabled systems desktop/laptop/smartphone etc
should work at the SAME TIME accessing the SSID set in your wifi router. (with security key )
    Also your sister's laptop.
    confirm.
