Thread: Bsnl broadband Wifi Problem

Hi friends.. i m using a nokia siemens wifi modem.. And my laptop is wifi enabled.. When i click on the internet connectivity icon in task bar it shows a Wireless Internet connection named 'default' and a Dial up an VPN connection named 'BSNL Broadband'. it shows default(wireless) has 'no internet access' and BSNL Broadband(dial up) has internet access. The problem is when i want to connect internet through wifi i have to connect both Wifi connection 'default' and dialup connection BSNL Broadband. By doing so i can connect to internet.Its fine. but my android mobile is connecting only to wifi connection 'default'.(Which shows 'no internet access' in laptop). How can i fix this problem to connect my android to my home's wifi network.

confirm you enter USERID/PW as below in modem.

Thanks for your reply. i have now changed my Wireless Network connection name to BSNL-Wifi from default. But where can i enter the user name and password. I found there was no provision for entering that. Please guide me on this.I have attached the screenshot below.

IN Advanced setup WAN.
You will get this page if you select PPPoE instead of "bridged "

I changed the settings as you mentioned and gave select and reboot. Now i m unable to open the DSL Router website 192.168.1.1 itself. What will be problem. Pls help.

After entering Userid/PW in wan page of modem/router,
( select PPPoE in wan page and uncheck "bridged" etc )
confirm you got connected to internet automatically. Also wifi.
Mention . OS. used.
What other changes you made in the router ?

For other systems to access in wif mode you should use
PPPoE mode (userid/PW entered/stored in WAn page )
check my sig link reg 192.168.1.1
RESET the unit ( with power on for 10 to 20 seconds )
Hope you can redo the entries in the wifi router.

Thanks for your replies. As u mentioned in your previous post, i cant find any provision for entering the Username and password in the Wan page of DSL Router. I have attached the screenshot for that below.

I have also attached the screenshot of Networks connected to. In that you can see the Wireless Network connection 'BSNL-Wifi' is connected but on the top you can see that 'BSNL-Wifi' has 'No Internet access'. Please help me on this.

type 192.168.1.1/main.html in browser address bar.
see Advanced options WAN lan etc.

You are in Dialer "bridged" mode" Unless you connect
wifi router cannot connect to Internet.

Go to Management and menu Item Backup.
Save current settings to a file for later use , if needed.
