Thread: difference between bsnl Standalone and combo Plans

what is the difference between bsnl Standalone and combo Plans ??
I'm currently using BBG FN Combo 500 plan and I want to shift to BBG250 plan.
what is the amount I'll need to pay ?? I'm eligible for 20 % discount.

BBG250 plan says :
Telephone fixed monthly charges in Rs - As per the existing Landline plan
Free Calls(MCU) - As per the existing Landline plan
MCU charges/ pulse in Rs. - As per the existing Landline plan

I don't know my previous existing Landline plan...how do I get the details for the above mentioned things.

Telephone rent will be extra. There is no 20 % discount on telephone bill. Normally when you shift to a stand alone plan, you will be shifted to general plan. Whose details you can find on BSNL site. Depending on your exchange (rural or urban) you will be charged like 110 for rural and 180 for urban.

You will get no night unlimited and if your usage exceeds 1 GB, you will be charged as Rs. 0.20/- per MB for usage upto 5 GB ; Rs. 0.10/- per MB thereafter.

PS : Do double check about the land line plan at your exchange. May be they follow different norms.

with 500 combo (20% discount) you pay 400 + tax for internet PLUS ZERO voice rental with 175 free calls
with 250 plan (20% discount) you will need to pay Rs.200 + tax for internet PLUS minimum Rs.180 + tax for voice rental with 50 free calls.

So you end up saving a maximum of only Rs.20 + tax but give up a lot more.
