Thread: Speed is good on laptop on wifi but not the same on PC connected to LAN

Hi I am a new member on IND BB FRM...... i need your assistance in solving the issue.

I have a T2 wireless modem from BSNL. T2-B-Gawv1.4U10Y-BI (Terracom).

OS on Laptop -- Win 7
OS on PC --Win XP

The speed on the laptop on WIFI is good and i am able to download faster as well. But once the PC is connected (after disconnecting the laptop) the speed dips drastically.

SNR on PC
SNR (Downstream) 6.30 dB
SNR (Upstream) 32.5 dB
Line Attentuation(Downstream) 31.0 dB
Line Attentuation(Upstream) 15.0 db

SNR on Laptop
SNR (Downstream) 16.05 dB
SNR (Upstream) 32.5 dB
Line Attentuation(Downstream) 31.0 dB
Line Attentuation(Upstream) 15.0 dB

Internet working fine when physically connected to LAN cable without WIFI.

Connect only PC with LAN cable.
( switch off Laptop ) {preferred disable WIFI in router.}
Check speed here twice;

In condition (2) above report snr/attn etc..
( open modem in laptop)
Confirm you checked ADSL data in Desktop
and Laptop at the same time.
