Default USB port on teracom wifi modem for.....

I got the teracom type2 (wifi) modem from bsnl. model T2-B-Gawv1.4U10Y-BI
it has a USB port(female) what is it for. According to the bsnl calcutta site it is to connect to the PC.
    http: //www[dot]calcutta[dot]bsnl[dot]co[dot]in/dataoneinstall/drg12. html (sry)
    Teracom Type-II ADSL MODEM CONNECTION[/url]
but no USB cable is provided. & i guess a USB male-male cable will not be available that easy.
Moreover in the user manual it is written "USB Host Port, for connecting the device those have USB Device Port (Like Pen Drive)."
USB host.. is it used to connect pen drive to share data or download directly to pendrive w/o PC?? there are many wifi routers these days which have such feature.. but is it that...
or is it to connect 3G USB modem... but then how to use it.
found no settings nor info on that anywhere including modem config page..
plz can anyone help me in finding what it is...
    thnx..

    This is correct.
Do not connect any other system other than a PC .
( Rarely used. Need drivers. can connect 2 PCs one to lan port and another to USB port of modem ) ::

Ya even i thought that but when i connected pendrive the led was blinking which means it was provided power(host)..
why would it pass power to PC?
& the most imp thng... when i asked BSNL CC they told me it was for 3G DATA card. but then where's the setting page..

ya u r wright... even i saw the bsnl website.. read ur post also... but technically speaking it is USB HOST port... not slave..
HOST means... master similar to USB OTG... google it if not clear..
then why is BSNL not providing support for it...
see the company is teracom but the interface is of BSNL may be BSNL has flashed its own firmware insted of using the generic.. may be...
i think there might be some h/w support for either 3G modems or storage drives..
ya & u can have a look at difference between USB & USB OTG to understand what i want to say(if not clear)...
    http ://en[dot]wikipedia[dot]org/wiki/USB_On-The-Go
do u have the same modem??
i would have tried to connect the USB-USB cable (i have 1) but cant risk any damage neither my PC nor modem... unless i am sure.

Perhaps the manufacturer of the modem/router, will be interested to
have your opinion, concern , about the "USB port" in the unit.
Please see this and get their reply.
