Thread: Unable to host game server on BSNL ut-300r2u modem. Need urgent help

Hi everyone,
this is my first post in this forum.

I tried to host a game server on my bsnl dataone connection with modem UT-300R2U. The default port for this game server is 28960 and suppose current IP is 117.1.1.255. No one can see my server on internet.

I have old firmware of modem. I tried DMZ config but no success. pls help...

Today i found out that i cannot simply ping my IP address from external IP. for example my current ip is 117.xx.xx.xx, I cannot ping it from another computer using different ISP using 'ping [MY IP] -t' command. It say 'request timed out'. Most probably my modem is stopping external users from pinging.

how can i fix this

Usually when you type your Dynamic IP in adddress bar
a message box will open for modem/router access.
Pinging , I don't know. check firewall settings.

start run type cmd
new window
type ping www.google.com or 117.193.38.xx

C:\Users\Kavika>ping 117.193.38.xx

Ping statistics for 117.193.38.xx:

At least tell what was the problem,
and if possible a screenshot of the virtual server page as
attachment( with entries )here for the benefit of other new comers .
