i had bsnl broad band and
i used to watch and downoad from adult site
, but i no longer do so.
Does bsnl keep a record of site visits and will they
track me.

Yes Bsnl or any other ISP is legally required to keep a record of all the sites you have visited for some time so be assured that if Bsnl or a government authority wants to find out what youve been doing on the net they will find it very easily.

Downloading from adult sites and having adult material on your computer in my opinion is not illegal in India but distributing adult material is illegal from what I understand and I might be wrong on this so do not rely on information I have provided and get legal help from a lawyer if you are in trouble already.
Adult material is of different kinds as well and some of it is illegal for instance underage stuff and videos that are recorded without consent and so on.

One thing I am pretty sure about is that downloading adult material using torrents and uploading at the same time is illegal in India and you could be prosecuted for distributing adult material because technically you are downloading the material onto your hard drive and then letting others download from your hard drive.

agreed.a few weeks ago there was a news in times of india about 2 cops harassing an IIT student for money at rail station by claiming that his mobile has adult clip even when he didn't.in that article it was mentioned by some lawyer that even if he had the adult clip on his mobile he couldn't be prosecuted unless it was proved that he forwarded those clips as only distribution of adult material is illegal but if a person is in possession of adult material only for his own personal use then he can not be charged.

yes be assured and besides you are not the only one doing this there millions of people and essebe said they much important task than this ...

and yes as whitestar said you cannot be prosecuted unless the adult content is shown/displayed in public

sharing +18 stuff around is a punishable offense..

so this way if you seed a torrent that contains an adult movie its a punishable offense too because you are hosting it simultaneously..

but the porn makes 95% of the internet..And the internet is bread and butter of telecos,,.

i dont know what do you mean by tracking..

no vigilance though, they do keep a record of everything.

my friends watch those things all the time on the internet. they download and delete after watching it. and they have doing it for years... nothing happened.
they never sold or uploaded to somewhere else..
just downloaded,watched,deleted..

people shall admit that they do it.. its so simple.. its not anything special or bad...

i dont do it because i dont want spywares and malwares in my computer!
