Thread: Sharing internet on BSNL tamil nadu

Hi,

I'm trying to network three computers (two run ubuntu and the third (laptop) runs windows) and have internet on all three. However, I've so far not been able to do so. I have a Huawei quidway router with wireless access. And if the laptop is connected via the wireless, the PCs cannot access the internet and vice versa.

I've tried using firestarter to do ip masquarading on the gateway pc and network the three, but that has not worked either. Now, I'm not able to find out the private IP address of my router and therefore not able to change settings on the modem (its not 192.168.1.1 anymore).

So, my questions:

1. How can I get these three computers to simultaneously access the net?
2. How can I find out my routers IP address? ifconfig does not give the ip of the modem!
3. Have I destroyed my router?
