Default Suggestion 4 Adsl modem/router for BSNl

Hi guys.. I have recently shifted from Airtel to BSNL and currently using the BSNL provided modem on rental..
SO now i was looking for a ADSL modem/router that would give a better range for my wifi use and also if possible use it dwd client ..
Not sure if buying a modem cum router is better choice than modem and router separate.. but it does save a lot of space..

I have shot listed Netgear WNDR3700(quiet costly) and Tp-Link W8960N(affordable)..

I wont get into the details of the pro and cons of both but i would like know if anyone uses any of these routers and how is to setup with BSNL?

any pointers on these routers or any other modem cum routers is highly appreciated..

for anything you can possibly face with Tp-Link W8960N model use this thread as reference

    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1258438

very long thread but conclusion is:
    a cheap modem/router with good features/performance.

P.S.i use tplink 8840t wired modem/router model & it's a great product for its low price.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

Thanks whitestar.. What is so funny is that it is the exact same page i found that this router even existed..

Well my only concern is configuring BSNl settings on it.. did not find much support or help..

So whitestar do you use BSNL? also how is configuring 8840t-easy/diff?

yes,i use bsnl.for setting any adsl connection using pppoe standard on any modem all you need is vpi/vci values which is 0 & 35 respectively for bsnl.also tp-link models come with a quick setup cd/wizard also but i prefer the manual setting method.pdf help file which was included on cd with my modem is also very detailed & explain all options.if still you face any issue then pm me & i will help.

Should I place in ground floor or first floor for good coverage on both floors?(never actually researched on this.. but i think first floor.. )

well i wanted to use Router as dwd client which will connected to HDD through a USB cable.. but i have decided against it and since W8960n supports NAS, maybe, in future i will connected a cheap NAS.
