    1. Check your phone line. See if there is any noise or disturbance.

    2. Check if you are facing any disconnection in broadband. Bypass splitter, connect directly to the modem and check if it is solved.

    also connect modem rj11 to phone port. Internet connection will be lost.As the filter inside blocks data signal.

    Thanks for reply. I have 2 splitters,one provided by bsnl and one came with netgear modem. But in both splitters modem is working in both ports i.e. phone and modem port, and same is with the phone.

    I was thinking, if my high ping problem is related to this?

    Thanks

    PROBABLY YOUR SPLITTER IS JUST A TWO way telephone rosette . .

    coils and condensers may be missing. You could even open it easily
    and inspect.

    Use ONE ADSL splitter cleared marked LINE PHONE MODEM cost about Rs 50/=
    FUNJIN or local make.

    Currently I am using the splitter that came with Netgear Modem D834G its written on it like this: one port - Phone other port - ADSL. But Phone and modem works on both ports. I'll open it and check for Coil and condensers. BTW can you post the inside image of splitter. Thanks

    Thanks for the image. I have one splitter exactly same and one from netgear (currently using). I opened the netgear one and found 3 coils and two oval shaped thin black objects in it. Shouldn't they block the phone signal in adsl port.

    ADSL DATA fully blocked by the filter( low pass audio filter) in Phone port.
    Your Internet connection will not work.
    This filter blocks adsl signal and if it is defective you may hear a "HISS" sound in phone and internet .connection will be affected.
    There should not be any kind of filter in the path to the. modem. .
    Phone will work in either port.

    \BSNL JUNCTION===LINE==MODEM PORT === Telephone OK
    BSNL JUNCTION==LINE===PHONE PORT==MODEM NOT OK.
