Thread: without using internet Shaplus meter counting usage

hello friends,
Today i have installed Shaplus Bandwidth Meter to check my daily usage as BSNL portal doesnt update my account usage..but this application shows data usage even i am not browsing internet and even browser is closed.In 5-10 mins it is shwing used data almost upto 1 mb..what cud b the reason for it?

System tray > Shaplus > Right click > Settings > Check adapters selected.

If you are in PPPoE mode, even if you do not use (browsers closed), there will be some amount of data transfer. Or may be it is Windows update or something. You can use TCPEye and check which program is accessing net.

yes i am in pppoe mode..i have closed windows update but still it is using data..i didnt get what TCPEye is?

As I mentioned above there will be some 5 MB per hour usage. If you are not using net, simply turn off the modem. Or switch to dialer mode where you can click " Connect " or " Disconnect " to start stop modem.

You can check which programs are accessing net using TCPEye (disable " auto refresh " ).

how it would effect if i uncheck other adapters except ehernet?? coz if i uncheck wireless adapter it would just avoid to show the used data of wireless network but cudnt avoid to use it as i think...in this case software may not provide exact usage of my broadband???

How many boxes you have checked now in "settings' of Shaplus?
