Question Unable to open specific websites! Surprising!!!

I am using BSNL broadband 500C plan for past many years.

Always I have been unable to open specific websites. A small list of them are...

    yahoomail.com
    hotmail.com
    mediafire.com
    mathworks.com
    etc.

in case of mediafire, just an initial progress bar appear, but no download link appears.

i have tried to open these sites both on my desktop and laptop, on different browsers(chrome, firefox, internet explorer) and different OS(windows xp, windows 7, ubuntu 10,11) but still i am unable to open.

thats why i came to the conclusion that some problem is with my broadband connection.

Someone please help!!! Please , please , please...
    Thanks in advance!

    Mention modem/router model/make/number.
Check MTU value usually 1500/1492 decrease in steps of 8 and try.
    Default 0(1500)
detailed suggestions ( if needed) on feedback.

    1. Change DNS to Google DNS or Open DNS

    2. Change the MTU values to 1440, 1450 etc and check.

If nothing works, try Opera Turbo. It can open those sites.

    unless MTU parameter is set,
perhaps change of browser may not help, boss.

Opera Turbo works like a proxy. So irrespective of your MTU settings, it will open sites that are even blocked by ISP. Worked in a few other cases.

i have tried to open these sites both on my desktop and laptop, on different browsers(chrome, firefox, internet explorer) and different OS(windows xp, windows 7, ubuntu 10,11) but still i am unable to open.

    Result :
    MTUDNS change did not help:

    Cause:
    Common Gateway : Modem/router 450TCI. ???
Check firewall page disable both boxes..

    or
How you connect to Internet ?
Using Dialer? 1483 Bridged mode or
    PPPoE mode.
Change connection mode to Dialer and try.
