Default BSNL and Land Revenue Act?

What does BSNL have to do with Land Revenue Act?
I have read on some forum, some complaints by people who are being harassed by BSNL for refusing to pay excess bills that were incorrectly calculated and issued. BSNL people were threatening that they will recover the dues under land revenue act.
My question is: What does a telecommunication department have to do with with land revenue department?
Does this mean that other departments from government will also involve to harass these victims? This is ridiculous!!! LOL

    welcome to Indiabroadband.
Perhaps various Government departments can do it to recover, otherwise non-realizable dues from their customers. As people become wiser to use and shift to the service to other telecom providers, department or the psu under the department also can.
Perhaps you realize that if the ticket issuing and checking people are lenient, no one purchases a ticket and all trains and buses run free service.

All I can think of is that this approach by BSNL is just going to alienate all its customers even further. Hearing about all these issues like excess bills and poor management of complaints by BSNL and its harassment of its customers, I am already thinking of shifting to some other provider. I have not received any excess bill so far but who knows about the future when I receive one because I don't want to run to courts or have recovery agents like extortion goondas chasing me just for refusing to pay something that is not upon me. LOL

we are not a party to such things
let us try to understand things as a third party.
i appreciate that item referred by you-- recovery agents( some from goondas...).
So, you know that private firms are no less in recovering their dues..
instead of calling any organisation, as poor managers,
Let us understand that the provider and its employees are also from the same society as customers are.
as public want free service and search for avoiding payments that they need to pay, so are organisations to firm up to recover their dues. after all being a PSU, bsnl or any other unit is answerable to same public and audit.
as much an organisation has to honor commitments, the customer is also bound by the terms and conditions of business.

I only wonder whether we can talk same way to income TAX, transport authorities, customs and excise, sales and commercial TAX, protection organisations like police, CID, CBI , justice etc? think of muncipalities and building permissions in Indian context.

we need hell of social correction against bad elements from either side. I am sure that India will not be the same after a decade. lot would imrove for good. and healthy atmosphere is not too far.

coming to specific case of bsnl customers, what prevented them to bring and mistake by BSNL to their knowledge and the customer is again protected by consumer protection, and regulatory bodies like TRAI. let us make use of the provisions of consumer protection.
i know of cases of excess billing where the customers' son was watching movies on broadband regularly without knowledge of father. they felt that as it is not saved, it wont amount to download, LoL.Helpless father had to pay the bill once it was brought to his notice.

even telephone, mobile or internet, initial months of thrill would turn to heavy bills and then many customers get to know that nothing comes for free.

    sorry
i might have typed a lot more than needed

I don't think BSNL is very strict in recovering bills. My friend's father died and he shifted to other place without cancelling their connection. After one and half years, they sent him a huge bill. He replied his father, in whose name the connection is no more and they let it go.

I am sure other ISPs might be try hard ways to get their money. Exactly the same reason why I am afraid of Reliance broadband

i cant believe. i think they send some D.M notice(forgot the actual word) when you dont pay.. and its like someone has to pay..
if you are the ward you have to pay it.. bsnl is sarkari company after all and it has access to all information with the local administration.

Imagine that his father had deposits worth 25lakhs in banks. As his father expired, would the person let it GO, LoL.
or more simple, imagine that there are no dues. He can get back 3K from the BSNL, if they send a cheque to the legal heir(himself), would he let it go!!!
    This is human nature.

We can't blame him. He would have been in a very bad state of mind after his father's death. Nobody cares to settle previous dues than getting back to native. So it is quite natural that people are reluctant to pay for what they have not used.

Default bsnl broadband is much much better than ACT

    Hi folks,
“bsnl broadband is much much better than ACT”. guys never take a connection from ACT. as I mentioned the govt BSNL is far better than ACT. worst customer care. Before getting the connection, executives use to call me every day even after telling that BAS***D not to call. at last I thought to try the broadband, once after applying and paying the money, no communication from their side. after trying several days one fine day i got response that, they are coming on that day around 2:30. they are coming. i came to my house leaving all office works, found they are not here and after calling they said, evening they will come. this continued for 1 week, once after getting the connection. from the day 1 no proper connection,. disconnection every 10 minuts. tried calling customer care, excecutives. no response.

PLEASE FOLKS DONT TRY THIS CONNECTION. I FELT BSNL IS FAR BETTER THAN ACT. STILL PLANING TO GETTING RECONNECTION OF BSNL. havent tried airtels. if anyone tried in banaswadi area and any good review please do let me know
