If you have adsl modem/router ( see wa3002_g4 quick guide)
option will be available Under management Access control.
    Select Box in WAN side.

you are confusing bsnl's adsl technology with cable's dsl technology.there is no image file in adsl broadband.speed is set at dslam in local exchange.

Yes, there must be an "image" (not sure about the terminology, but that doesn't matter) which the router loads when it boots, just like any other computer.

But is tfpt the way to find it? I don't think so. See if you can telnet to your router. You will need to google for intstructions on using telnet. You will probably also need to know the essential command-line ways of getting around a Unix/Linux machine (ls, cd, pwd and so on. Hint: if there is no ls, echo * will list the contents of a directory)

Warning: Once you access your router at this level, you can cause major and irretrievable damage very, very easily. There will be no "Are you sure you want to..." prompts, and there is no undo or undelete. Before starting, make sure you can afford a new router! Back up your configuration to your PC using the backup function in the admin pages. Before attempting to change or replace any file on your router, make a copy --- but even this will not save you if you make it unbootable.

If the intention is to try to hack a higher speed out your ISP, whitestar is right: it is fixed at the exhange, so you can't.

i don't support cable modem hacking for speed boost so not giving the reference link & in western countries especially usa you can even go to jail for doing this if caught.
    Theory of cable modem working
All the cable modems when it boots up it will search for an "Image file" where in all configuration like your upload speed limit and download speed limit is defined. This "Image file" is stored in ISP`s TFTP server. Modem will be pre-configured with the ISP`s TFTP server IP address and the Image file name to be downloaded. When the modem boots up it query TFTP server and download Image file from TFTP server according to this this our speed limits will be set.
    Our Mission
Get this Image file from ISP`s TFTP server, reconfigure it according to our need and force our modem to download this file from our Computer rather than downloading it from our ISP`s TFTP server.
in ADSL technology like the one bsnl uses connection speed is set at an equipment known as DSLAM located in local telephone exchange & the connection speed is independent of modem behaviour.that is why you can not uncap your adsl connection speed by any other means.

Abslutely agree. Can't think how many times I've answered "how do I increase my bandwidth/FUP-limit?" with "Pay more!". It pisses people off, but hey!

No idea why Gurwinder is asking this question. Could be he wants to install some alternative router firmware.

I hate questions like this. It reminds me of a boss, saying to me, one day, "Have we got a C compiler?". Yes, we have a full unix package, we have a C compiler (not that I could get much beyond "Hello World" with in C), what would he like to do with it?

Turned out he wanted a simple database of names and addresses! We also had Informix ...not to mention the much simpler Windows tools for the job.

    so... tfpt? Why?

you didn't read my previous post anyway in short he thought bsnl uses cable dsl technology in which modem downloads an image file from tftp server of the ISP which contains connection speed limits.by modifying this image file & uploading it to the cable modem replacing the one from tftp server one you can hack your connection speed limits.this is different from modifying your modem firmware.
