Thread: Help Me to Buy a WiFi Modem

Hello guys,

Sorry to be a noob here. I got a bb connection from bsnl. But they were telling that they don't have a modem in stock now and asked me to buy one from outside. I don't know which one to buy. I went to a shop and checked a few - Becklin, dlink etc. But I don't know what kind of modem i should buy.

I need a wireless enabled modem. Will router alone work for me? or I've to buy modem+router? is ADSL2+ Router (wifi) is modem+router.? Please advice me I'm totally confused about buying a modem for my connection.

If you do not have a ADSL modem already, you need a modem + router to get WiFi. You can talk to the shop people, buy any modem which is suitable for BSNL. Ask them about the range of WiFi. Belkin, DLink etc are good. But I prefer DLink among them.

Thank you. I don't have any modem already - So i have to buy a modem + router (wifi) right? D-Link ADSL2/2+ Modem with Wireless Router (DSL-2640B) is a 3-in-1 is good??

Also i saw a becklin which is ADSL2+ and wifi router. Both are 2500/- which one would you suggest?

Please suggest model for D'link for user. with reasons as he is a beginner. Cost around Rs 2500/=

Mention model number of BELKINS.
I think I recommended (DSL-2640B) in some other forum to you.
Mention area/ radius of activity for WIFI ( as well as height first floor /3rd floor etc ). No of systems to be used in wifi mode.
