is there somekinda treaty among themsalves like: we pledge that we will not give good speed, before 50 percent consumers adopt 3g.

Of course there will be some understanding between the ISPs regarding the speed and rates they offer. Though they compete each other, they play live and let live game. So no single / new company will not give you what that is not available in the market at that time (others won't allow even if they try).

Also speed of 3G depends on many factors. Unless companies invest a lot and improve their infrastructure and their on bandwidth quota, the current situation will prevail.

But tell me, who will voice for low speed in 3G ? If you don't know, 3G is not available beyond district head quarter in many states. That too you have to depend on BSNL in many circles. How many has smart phones ? How many got PCs in India ? This is democracy here, unless your case is not voiced by majority, no matter it is true or not, there is no hope. Look at Anna's campaign and how it is dealt with, so don't hope more than some supporting words from fellow 3G users.

Ans) Most of you will say you can download movies and games fast. Now from where you will download them. From Illegal sites, which means you will promote piracy.

2) what will happen if the server from which you are downloading is connected from 1gbps shared port?
Ans) You will get only half of the speed of your connection. Then You will blame your ISP for it.

In our country first concern of government is to provide data connection to all not how high speed can be provided

According to demographics of 2009

population of korea republic was just 48.747 million and 80.9% were using internet
And
population of india was 1155 million and about 5.3% were using internet

all the points you mentioned are similar to mine...

i also want to know, that what will you download with a 1gbps connection in this present??

we are not living in "sky people" age right now.

i cannot understand. at one point these isps block all pirated stuff as policy against piracy, and than they ask if you want a gbps connection?? for what??paid music? pirated movies?? no...

they will make you access gmail with that....that too will be blown saying "you have driven my servers busy @$$#le"

There are two main factors :-

1.The literacy rate of India is 74%(approx.) whereas Korea is 99%(approx.).

2.Cost of data services in India is much higher than in Korea.

I got a UL BSNL connection and they said it will give 2Mbps. I got a peakbandwidth of 1.89Mbps.

My cousin residing in the US (Texas) and i decided to play a MMORGP we started the download at almost the same time. I downloaded it sooner than he could, though, Fiesta server was in US.

India has improved a lot better in fields of telecommunications.

But i should ask you, do you really need a 1GbPs connection for your home.
You can play Counter Strike Source US or Russian servers smoothly with 6-8MbPs.

India has a far better network than China(in terms of internet democracy,standards,safety)
Ofcourse there is corruption to large extent.(lower than China and Russia)

Indian politicians and the PMs, CMs are not dynamic in decision making. This is the only thing that actually bothers.
We cant comment frankly (as we do now in India) in S/N Korea,China.
As far as USA. They have money!!! Only that!!! So they can do anything(they think so,in some cases)!!! But thier policies are rubbish!!!

yes you are right, broadband price in india is very high, can't be affordable by studants and middle class families...

Well, if you are satisfied with any service, disconnect it. Don't pay anything in advance. Keep checking how much they charge and keep asking what was that for. I ofthen record calls made to customer care guys.

I have an Idea internect connection and when suddenly they deducted 30 rupees from my account, I asked customer care guy what was that for. He said " jungle boogie pack" has been activated. And what is that all about. He was ashamed and said I dont know sir. and immediately I had 30 rupees back.

I had Airtel post paid connection. They were bullshitting with bill and I asked them to disconnect and didn't pay last 2 bills worth thousands. When someone from airtel came to me for bill, I said if next time you ring my doorbell, I will break your nose. I never showed up.

Currently I am using bsnl 750ul. Kinda happy with that. No other company is that cheap for this speed.

Here's my story.. I live in NewDelhi in a not so well to do area but we've got a metro station about 4-5 mins walk from my place and a major road and this is about 25-30 year old area (before that it was all fields) and is now very densely populated with all sorts of people living around here from filthy rich to very poor so its a kind of mix here but when it comes to broadband I am using a Reliance netconnect broadband plus modem one of those wireless things because reliance wimax is down for the last three weeks or so and they havent done anything about it except for giving me a new complaint number every time I call. Ive tried everything and anything that is available including a leased line from a well known company but its just not worth the money and in the end here I am using this cdma connection which is supposed to give me 3.1 mbps speed but I am not complaining as long as its doing more then 512
Ive lived in a number of countries and I have never had trouble with broadband apart from my own sweet home.

I cannot move out of this area because my family has lived here for almost 15 years and we've just spent a fortune rebuilding our house from scratch so all I can do is sit here and pray to god that one day some ISP would be able to provide broadband service which would be as advertised and I would be able to stay connected 24/7 with no downtime. Its still a dream but I am sure things will change in future! Ram bharosae till then!

Reliance Netconnect is around Rs 1000 for 10 GB.(we have one and the speeds are never more than 1 Mbps.But CDMA signal quality is strong inside the house.)
You did not try MTNL 3G-Unlimited? Looks cheap for Rs 4500 for 6 months!

I recently purchased an Airtel 3g modem with Rs 750 (2gb) plan but I am struggling to manage the the upload/dwnload. I use Linux (openSUSE) OS, I need to update install software, everything online.

So I have decided to reactivate my BSNL HOME UL 750 BB connection. I can tolerate 512 kbps but I need unlimited internet.

Simple, I am stuck with 512 kbps coz I cant afford a higher plan. Internet is expensive in India IMO.

The only option available at the moment is using a UL plan and NU plan. You can get Night Unlimited plan + free calls from BSNL just for Rs. 500. Use it for your updates (gives 2 Mbps) and UL plan for browsing. You can also use a 4 Mbps UL plan which comes under Rs. 1,000 and gives some 8GB FUP. If you schedule your downloads at NU, you can enjoy net at 4 Mbps.
