Question HELP, no internet connection... but all lights are ON

    [Type1 Modem: AN1020-20]

    Hey friends,

From yesterday midnight am having this problem...
Yesterday night my modem's internet LED light was not blinking(ON)..
    and cant open any webpages...
then i posted a complaint in BSNL customer care...
they said its gonna be ok within a day... and they said it was their fault... from BSNL side...
afterwards, i received this message in my mobile today...
    like,
"Docket number:XXXXXXXXXXX is closed. Please call customer care for more info"

then i thought the problem was over and i tried to connect the internet...
and, now the internet LED light was ON... but no webpages are open...
so, then i troubleshooted in 192.168.1.1.... now every thing in it was passed... except that "ping default gateway is failed"... again i contacted the CC... again they lodged a complaint... what should i do?... i dont know what to do... even i did those trouble shoot thing by your forum's help... Now i need your help...

    "Ping default gateway FAIL" only...

hey and another thing... i was resetted my modem 2 times... was that a reason for what am having now?

    1. What error do you get ?

    2. Which mode are you in ? PPPoE or Bridge ? For PPPoE, use this guide and cross check your settings (similar interface)

Teracom Type-II ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION

    3. Post your ipconfig/all data.

    4. Are you able to use torrents ?

    5. Which OS do you use ? Does it show connected ?

    6. Did you check with your friends or anyone in the locality ? Are they able to connect to net ?

    7. If nothing works, complain here

is your modem configured in pppoe mode in which you get connected by just turning on the modem?if yes then in your diagnostics/log page give detailed error/test info.in my modem diagnostics page these are the tests:
    >> Testing Ethernet LAN connection ... PASS
    >> Testing ADSL Synchronization ... PASS
    >> Testing ATM OAM segment ping ... PASS
    >> Testing ATM OAM end to end ping ... PASS
    >> Ping Primary Domain Name Server . PASS
    >> Ping Yahoo! ... PASS

if you meant Ping Primary Domain Name Server test failed then it is a problem on bsnl side.

Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

Please check these screenshots and get connected in Lan mode first.

hey and another thing... i was resetted my modem 2 times...
Since you RESET the modem twice, and then made changes there could be some error/s.
TRY RESET again and and try connect in Dialer Mode
( enter userId PW externally to the modem )

    10.
If failed see link above for PPPoE settings.

    11.
Diagnostics page entries as given in Post No3.

    1. I mean what error you get on browser.

    2. Think so. Were you able to connect to net when you switch ON the modem ? Or do you need to enter the ID and password in dialer and click " connect " ?

Simply edit the 0/35 entry and check the settings.

Try dialer mode as suggested by essbebe and check. All you need to do is edit the 0/35 settings, select " bridge " instead of PPPoE and create dialer. Enter yor ID and password on it and click " connect ". Please note, by this way you can connect only one machine, that too through ethernet cable. You create dialer on either your laptop or desktop, but make sure that ethernet cable is connect to it.

Did you check WiFi ? What is the status ?

Tried this ? Compared your settings with the link provided ? If in doubt, post the screen shot.

Use your own ID and password (not portal ID and password).

If you are too confused, complain in the link given in point 7 and wait for BSNL people to respond.

    a. Try this, if not working, remove http://, copy paste this link in your browser window and check

    http://mis.bsnl.co.in/pgs/internet/pgwebregn.asp

    b.To create dialer : For Windows 7

Network and sharing center > Set up a new connection or network > connect to internet > PPPoE ( Connect using DSL or cable that requires a username and password) > Enter ID and password

Whenever the lines go bad the port in the DSLAM is reset, hence username and password go to their default values i.e., "multiplay"
To prevent your modem from resetting, disable TR-69

Incorrect information. BSNL not using Remote access of customers
modem like Airtel. using client_tr069 menu.

IN MY BEETEL110bxi tr-069 CLIENT IS enabled
    i AM USING bsnl bb.
.. Management Protocol (TR-069) allows a Auto-Configuration Server (ACS) to perform auto-configuration, provision, collection, and diagnostics to this device.

    ACS URL :http://rms.airtelbroadband
    ACS USER name : airtelacs
    acs PASSWORD: ********

    CONNECTION rEQUEST user name: admin
    Connection Request Passsword ***** ( admin ?)
    'Multiplay" is used by BSNL.

    PARA TWO:
WHEN you use the RESET option locally, then user name/PW can revert to "multiplay" and PW password.
That is what user has complained.

    @bsanant
Post as screen shot your modem page showing tr_069 client page .
or give the the BSNL website/ user name etc. ( as given by me for Airtel)
    2.
Clarify, what will happen in modems, of BSNL users , who DO NOT use PPPoE mode. ( userid/PW stored in modem ).

    3..
Other BSNL users may also check in their modems and confirm.
