    Exclamation Cheap Tricks by BSNL

BSNL plays cheap tricks like not allowing any new connections after midnight, ie.when the free usage period starts.
It also reduces the speed on sundays when people are free.
These are just some of the many discrepencies in the services offered by BSNL.
We all now cbout the customer service,
    Will this situation ever change?
Will there be any proper technology in the government?

Can you please explain ? What do you mean by " new connections ". I stay late night these days and download movies at the same time. Working fine for me.

I get good speeds all the time. May be they have given beyond capacity in your area or have too many high speed users. It will result in traffic congestion.

Which plan are you using ? Mention your location.

Nobody has a different opinion about customer care.

    BSNL is the best provider...
    1. Never disallowed me for connections in midnight as you said.
    2. Sundays are when i download very easily.
    3. These are not discrepencies but happens with every ISP including Airtel and Reliance.
    4. Customer care is null, yes!
    5. Situation is under control and not like with Tata Indicom, Airtel and reliance. You may go through this forum how some big ISPs give nonsense replies to customers about bad services.
    6. Govt. must first pass the bill of Lokpal, Internet is way behind in India even with pvt. services.
Site from home gaya bhad mein... AIrtel se bolo FUP band kare.. BSNl se bolo 3G signal do!!!!>: (

Now we have enough providers of broadband , through landline(ADSL mode) cable (DSL) and wifi mode etc.
At least BSNL returns all the security Deposits you made ( No interest of course !) when you disconnect their services.
You can personally meet the top engineer, on a particular day say wedneday between 2 to 3 PM.
The same cannot be said about AIRTEL/TATA/Tikona/Hathway etc.

Airtel staff used to change the modem and disappear fast whenever I made a complaint! they have to attend to so many calls per day !!!

If you see the Archives say one or two years back in these forums,
gradually improvements have taken place in BSNL. No one gets a bill for 1 Lakh and above now !!!. and metering during night has been updated.

If you have a specific complaint , and local staff were not helpful you
can make an ONLINE complaint here.

Still no improvement/ ditch BSNL .( Choice is not restricted now )

Even now 50% is the share of BSNL for broadband services.
They have to cater to remote villages etc. and provide the service at a highly subsidized rates.

The grass is greener always on the other side of the fence!!!!
Any technical problem post here , and members will try to help you out. This is applicable to all ISP's .

yes.. if you have problems ditch bsnl...

you can keep the security money with them, so that when you come back it doesnt create any problem..

Speed everythig is good about BSNl what is bad is the customer service. God know how did they get ISO certification. The BSNL SDE is a lazy chap whole day sitiing in his office on his laptop enjoying free service dictating solutions on phone and always we are on the wrong side. No onfield engineers to check problems like SNR etc. The same old lineman comes who is a layman for terms like SNR,ADSL are big words for him to digest.he can only chage wires and phone instruments.Very funny one BSNL officer who visited my place for speed problem said dont use the phone simultaneously with broadband surfing it will reduce speed, unplug the phone when surfing. Here the very concept of Broadband is not clear with the poor chap.
So any problem you are on your own either change your plan or instrument or maybe wires ,this we can do very easily at our end.

I must say that regarding speed,i personally have no issues from BSNL,i am promised to get 64kBps,sometimes it goes to 70~75kBps.
I am on 750 Combo UL.
As far as customer care is concerned,it is getting good in my area(Touchwood) .
If you are not getting the speed you are promised i.e. upto 256kBps,it may be because there may be other users too who would be on same plan you have.
Check also if you joints in the line, speed issues are generally solved by JTO/SDE,as far as my Experience.
