Thread: IPOD touch not accessing internet through Nokia Siemens Router WIFI access

I have a Nokia Siemens SL2 BSNL Router. I am trying to access WIFI through it with my iPod touch. Once I connect I can see the wifi signal on my iPod but I am unable to open any internet page. The I.P. address that is being assigned to my iPod is 169.254.77.191 with subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. I have tried accessing other wifi network using my ipod and it works perfectly.

Requesting help and thanking in advance

1.Is it just a router or a modem cum router ? If only router, mention the modem in use.

2. Do you have any other WiFi devices ? Are you able to connect WiFi using it ?

3. When you try to connect using your SSID (WiFi name) using iPod, what error does it give ?

169.254.77.191
Default MS PrivateLAN IP address. Indicates error in settings.

Router setttings.
Enable DHCP in modem ( Usually in Advanced options LAN page)
Give a range 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10
Enable UpnP
connect in PPPoE mode ( "Always On")
( USERID/PW enterd /stored in WAN page).
SAVE REBOOT.

2> I have tried connecting my mobile to the Modem in wifi but failed.
3> It does not give any error. I can see the wifi signal on my ipod but cannot open any webpage. I get the error the safari cannot open the webpage as it is not connected to the internet.

Tried option.4 , instructions in post. 3 ?

Modem menu > LHS > Advanced set up > LAN > You will find a check box to enable UPnP.

Worked for many. If your settings are proper, it should work. Use this link and recheck your settings
