@ anand , please contact your local BSNL exchange and ask
    i) if they have received your apllication (if not apply in person)
ii) whether empty ports are available to provide broadband connection

They will take some time to provide you the connection. So don't worry, wait for some more days or visit your area bsnl exchange and ask the higher authority about your connection process state.

Did you ask them if they have a spare port? If they don't have a spare port it might take some time before they can provide a new connection.

    The best method is
Buy a router from the market and apply to nearest exchange
And don't ask for router as they are not having routers.

Yes.... Actually, BSNL is upgrading its port capacity all over India. Also in my place Bangalore too. Actually it takes like around 10 Days for the connection to work.

As everyone said, you will have to chase up. Filling form online does not work as they do not have enough staff to monitor the online applications. Also it depends upon your local exchange. If you happen to live in an area where the exchange is an old establishment, it may take some time. My connection took 2 months but my colleague got her connection in 6 days and activated one day later.

There is a difference between BSNL's 15-day free offer and night time free.

BSNL's 15 day free BB offer:
This is an introductory offer to people who wish to try before they buy. Under this scheme, BSNL will provide you broadband with no installation or other such charges. The speed will be 2 mbps. During this 15-day period, you can use the BB as you like but your usage is limited to 0.5 GB. There is no free night time (2AM to 8AM) usage under this offer. Everything you browse, download, see as streaming video, upload, mails, etc. is counted as usage.

(*) Important: I am not sure what happens exactly after the 0.5GB usage is exhausted - whether BB stops working or whether you will be charged for excess usage. I am guessing (rather hoping) that it is the former, i.e., BB stops working.

At the end of 15-days or 0.5GB usage limit getting over (whichever occurs earlier - see (*) note above), you will be asked whether you would like to convert the temporary BB connection to permanent.

If you opt for "YES", then you will be asked to select a plan and all charges such as Installation, Security Deposit, Modem buy or rent, etc. will be applicable. This will be billed to you in the next invoice. Your actuall billing period will be the day from which the connection was converted as permanent till the last day of the month. All charges and usage will be prorated for this period.

If you opted for "NO", the equipment will simply be taken away and you will not be charged anything (see (*) note above).

    Regular Home 500 Plan:
You have not mentioned whether it is Home 500 or Home 500 C or Home 500 C+. Whatever the case may be, you are now a permanent customer. You enjoy all the benefits of the plan as well as liable for charges from day 1:

Your first months charges and usage will be prorated from the day connection was activated till the last day of the month.

    • Because of the above, you should be careful not to download heavily during the first month. For example, suppose your connection went live on 22-Feb-2009 and your plan usage limit is 2 GB. Then your usage limit for February is prorated for 7 days as follows:
    • Limit per day for Feb = 2048 MB /28 = 73 MB approx (if month is Jan divide by 31, if month is Apr divide by 30 and so on).
Total Limit for Feb (7 days) = 512 MB approx.
    • You will have 2 AM to 8 AM free night usage.

I hope things are clearer now. If there are some queries still, please fire them away.
