Thumbs down My bsnl data stolen!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello,

Currently i was in BB 900 plan i.e i should get 4 MBPS speed upto
8 GB ,but till now (from 6 months) i m getting 1.8MBPS(according TO SPEEDTEST.NET) but i best thing is i got unlimited speed i.e even i crossed 8 GB i speed didn't reduced to 256kbps and i got same speed ,so i kept Quite about this as i thought this fine. But today i found that i have used 8,700 MB data in selfcare website and i was really shocked by seeing this because within last three days i gave 3 complaints regarding slow BB speed and day before yeaterday night it (selfcare) shown 3000 MB(approx) data downloaded and yesterday night it shown 7000 MB AND NOW 8,700 MB,how come its possible ?? , i was sure that i didnt downloaded because i m getting 17 kbps download speed from 2 days.

so how 3000MB came to 8,700 MB ????

i got the doubt about this data loss 3-4 months. but i didn,t complained because i thought that i may used . but now its clear that its technical problem .

i hope you understand my problem

    Mention modem's model and make.

    1. Do you use WiFi ? Secure it with WPA2 encryption and set MAC filter.

    2. To avoid confusion in future, install a bandwidth meter. Try one from Networx.

    3. Did you check your usage details ? How is the data loss listed ? Download or upload ? Use a good firewall and antivirus.

    4. This may help

Complain to the SDE of your exchange. If you are sure you modem was OFF during that time, it can be easily found. The MAC ID will be different. Take necessary screen shots and show them to SDE.

Some one using your BB from your Telephone line but not from the other side because of the Vlan Id is same and your account is port binded.
Don't be afraid your chargeable units all are zero so no over bill.

    @srujan21
vide Post No 6, go to your usage portal and change your
    Password for connecting to Internet.

Someone , if aware of your userid and PW could tap your telephone line, and use BB without your knowledge,
    and make Phone calls also.

Are you living in a Flat complex ?

Above possibility most unlikely. Anyway take preventive steps.

    Other thing can be possible
if your account is hack then the hacker knows the credential of your BB and I am sure he is very smart and have good knowledge upon ethical networking to find out your Vlan Id. Vlan Id has range between 0000 - 4093. I can alter this range and use of mine set of Vlan Id instated of original value. Need a switch to change or alter this value.

hi Indranil, How are you ? Seeing you after a long time

    @ OP

If you are using PPPoE mode, change the ID and password of modem (usually both are admin). If in bridge mode, use a good firewall.

Also use a good bandwidth meter like Networx or Shaplus too keep an eye on your local usage. By this way, you an easily prove your side.

    There are 4 selfcare portals

CRM , ndc, wdc,edc for South, North, West and East respectively. You can open them from anywhere but you need to be of a particular circle (for which the portal functions) for your registration to be accepted.
