Default how to connect both PC and laptop to internet using dataone modem

hello all
my first qn on this forum as my new dataone connection is coming in few days i want to know how can i connce tmy Desktop and laptop to the modem given by them (mine is type 1 modem ..so 1 USB and 1 ethernet port) ..so do they provide any wires for that? ..i dun understand how i can i connect it at USB port ?
also i read on the forum some utility like 'switchoff ' is used to start the PC automatically at 2 am and then u can scheule the downloads after 2AM , i tried it but now my doubt is can i completely automate this process ? means my PC should start at 2.05 AM then it will start downloading and by 7.55 AM it should switch off ...so i want both start up and shut down of pC to be done automatically ..is it possible any application or utility naybody knowing for this ?
plz help

BSNL does not provide any wires to connect Laptop .
if you have usb port / Lan port on laptop then you
can directly connect it to the modem thru wires .

or if you are interested in getting wireless internet
to Laptop then you would need a wireless router .
it can be taken from BSNL if available or can be
bought from market .

scheduling internet connection can be completely
automated if you have a modern pc with auto power
on and auto shutdown capabilities (check in BIOS) and
windows xp . utilities are also available for this purpose .

I dont know about BSNL..but Airtel provide both cable (LAN and USB) at the time of installation.

However connection through USB is not preferred..becaused of frequent disconnection problem. I will suggest you to use LAN on both system...and use a HUB/ Switch .
