Rep Power: 0 | hello all my first qn on this forum as my new dataone connection is coming in few days i want to know how can i connce tmy Desktop and laptop to the modem given by them (mine is type 1 modem ..so 1 USB and 1 ethernet port) ..so do they provide any wires for that? ..i dun understand how i can i connect it at USB port ? also i read on the forum some utility like 'switchoff ' is used to start the PC automatically at 2 am and then u can scheule the downloads after 2AM , i tried it but now my doubt is can i completely automate this process ? means my PC should start at 2.05 AM then it will start downloading and by 7.55 AM it should switch off ...so i want both start up and shut down of pC to be done automatically ..is it possible any application or utility naybody knowing for this ? plz help regards Nilesh |

Rep Power: 3 | BSNL does not provide any wires to connect Laptop . if you have usb port / Lan port on laptop then you can directly connect it to the modem thru wires . or if you are interested in getting wireless internet to Laptop then you would need a wireless router . it can be taken from BSNL if available or can be bought from market . scheduling internet connection can be completely automated if you have a modern pc with auto power on and auto shutdown capabilities (check in BIOS) and windows xp . utilities are also available for this purpose . |

Rep Power: 0 | I dont know about BSNL..but Airtel provide both cable (LAN and USB) at the time of installation. However connection through USB is not preferred..becaused of frequent disconnection problem. I will suggest you to use LAN on both system...and use a HUB/ Switch . |
