I have heard that they used to send a mail to your BSNL ID when you cross the limit. Check your ID. I heard it long back, not sure they do it now. You can use a bandwidth meter from Networx or Shaplus and keep an eye on your usage. If you use Bitmeter, you can set warning when it reaches a particular value.

They used to send it some 1 year ago, also there was an sms alert service. But it seems they are too lazy to maintain it. It is better to use a bandwidth meter to be on safer side use a good bandwidth meter on your PC. You can try one from Networx or Shaplus. Shaplus is simple and basic where as Networx has graphical display of bandwidth and statistics. For better results use them both. They are very light and won't be intense on your resources. You can also try Bitmeter which can give you audio alerts when a certain limit of quota is reached.
